Der Nutzwert einer solchen Kartei hängt in hohem Maße von .der Zuverlässigkeit der mechanischen Auswahl und dem Umfang der notwendigen Markierungs- und Auswahlarbeiten ab. Die Erfindung bringt diese beiden Hauptfaktoren in ein Verhältnis, wie es bisher nicht erreicht wurde. Sie besteht darin, i. daß Karteikarten verwendet werden, die am oberen Rande ein bis zwei Löcher zur leichteren Entnahme und in der unteren Hälfte eine Anzahl von Lochreihen aufweisen, die je nach dem festzuhaltenden Merkmal durch Schlitze miteinander verbunden sind, 2. daß diese Lochreihenkarten in Karteikästen untergebracht sind, deren Stirnwände und Zwischenfächer die gleiche Lochreiheneinteilung besitzen wie die.
