Improvements to the patent seeker's apparatus for catching convoluted threads

in spinning machines.

The subject of the present improvement is a new way of moving the thread catcher, For the purpose of simplifying the whole "Brise manages" apparatus and making its mode of operation more regular close.

The improvements relate mainly to those organs of the mechanism, which, like the springs and counterweights, are designed to lift the thread catcher rod. Those organs showed the intolerance, not quickly at the moment of the rising of the threads enough to work, and often the hooks are at the level of the worker's head too permit.

We therefore have the apparatus as shown in the accompanying drawing modified and describe it as follows:

Mode of operation of the apparatus.

While the carriage is being extended to about 50 cm from the end of its course, the breeze mariages is calm, that is, the hooks are raised above the extension cylinders. During this time the disk U, rotating in the direction of the arrow, has attracted the chain V , so that it has assumed the position indicated by the dotted lines. With further rotation, the disk M is now rotated about its axis until the counterweight R has assumed the position R ^1. With this, the entire thread catcher system is slowly lowered between the threads up to b, ie up to 30 cm below the threads to be wound up.

If an entanglement has taken place, it will be caught between the prongs e and f of the thread catcher L , slip through the opening c and be caught in the cavity g. If, as a result, the carriage goes back and therefore the disk U rotates in the opposite direction, the chain V is unrolled again.

The disk M , since it is no longer held back by the chain, will swing back by virtue of the counterweight R ' and the latter will fly through its living force as far as Ji ² , in order to immediately return to its vertical position. With the swinging back of the disk M , of course, the whole thread catcher row rises and takes with it any double threads that might have formed. During the upward movement, the spring N has encountered the braking surface ο , on which it now rests more firmly and firmly until the entire thread catcher device finally comes to a standstill. When the hooks are quickly raised, the caught thread, which was in corner g, FIG. 3, will fall into corner h , from where it slides into cavity i. It can happen, and indeed does happen more often, that the thread caught between the prongs of the thread catcher " escapes laterally through the opening at e due to excessive tension, while the hooks rise. To avoid this, we have changed the original shape of the hooks a little. We make a small incision, a small barb, on one prong generating, which is supposed to prevent the thread from slipping and actually prevents it.
