Bekannte Einrichtungen zur dielektrischen Erwärmung von Körpern lim elektrischen Hochfrequenz feld bestehen aus einem Generator zur Erzeugung einer Hochfrequenzwechselspannung und aus zweipolig geschalteten, meist paarweisen Elektroden, zwischen denen sich der zu erwärmende Körper befindet. Es sind für diesen Zweck verschiedene Elektrodenarten und -Anordnungen bekannt, die durch zweckmäßige Formgebung und geeignet gewähltem gegenseitigem Abstand die gewünschte räumliche Verteilung der Wärmeentwicklung in dem zwischen den Elektroden befindlichen Körper bewirken sollen. Dabei wird eine möglichst gleichmäßige Wärmeentwicklung in der gesamten Masse des Körpers angestrebt. Dies kann in vielen Fällen, vor allem bei Körpern von ungleichmäßiger Gestalt, insbesondere bei Körpern mit räumlichen Verzweigungen, nur in unvollkommener Weise und mittels komplizierter Elektrodenformen und -Anordnungen erreicht werden.
