Der federnde Druck, der je nach der Dicke des Leders geregelt werden kann, theilt sich dem Lederstück in seiner ganzen Fläche mit und läfst nicht zu, dafs, wenn der Stempel e auf das Leder (das sich also über der Oeffnung k befindet) drückt, sich irgend welche Falten bilden. Das Leder kann dadurch an einem Punkt dem Druck des Stempels nicht schneller folgen wie an einem anderen. Befände sich das Leder c nicht unter diesem federnden Druck, so würde es, sobald der Stempel e von oben her seinen steten Druck ausübt, entweder zerreifsen, oder es würde sich an den Stempel e nicht glatt anschmiegen und ringsum Falten bilden, also ein unbrauchbares Fabrikat ergeben.Before the panels α and b are put together , the piece of leather c, FIG. 2, is placed on the lower panel b .
