Kochherde sind meist mit Rücksicht auf ihren eigentlichen Zweck für die Beheizung des Küchenraumes wenig geeignet. Die von der Feuerung erzeugte Hitze wird meist nur an die Kochtöpfe herangeführt, wobei die Brennstoffausnutzung oft mangelhaft ist, so daß ein erheblicher Teil der Wärme in den Schornstein geht. Eine bessere Wärmeausnutzung läßt sich bei solchen Kochherden durch Kochaufsätze erzielen, wie sie in Form von. Ein- und Zweilochkochern bekannt sind und die aus einem zargenförmigen Aufsatz bestehen, der über beide Kochlöcher greift und in den die Herdringe eingesetzt «-erden können. Durch diese Aufsätze wird ein beachtlicher Teil der Rauchgaswärme zur Raumheizung zusätzlich nutzbar gemacht. Die bekannten Aufsätze passen jedoch nicht auf jeden Herd, weil der Abstand der Kochlöcher nicht genormt ist, so daß viele Größen der Aufsätze auf Lager gehalten werden müssen.
