Description
It is known to use foam-like wetness, especially for insulating purposes, resins curable by foaming aqueous solutions, in particular urea-formaldehyde condensation products, continuously produce by the aqueous solution of a foaming agent by means of Compressed air foamed and this foam with the compressed air in one separate vessel produced foam of a resin solution mixed, the synthetic resin foam fills in forms and ends up in them. This procedure will be proportionate coarse-pored foam masses obtained, especially when used as an insulating material not always meet high requirements.
It has now been found that foam compositions can be made evenly finer Porosity, which are ideally suited as insulating compounds, in a continuous mode of operation can be produced if an aqueous solution is placed in a container with vigorous stirring a foaming agent foamed, this foam in a second container as well mixed with a solution of a synthetic resin, glue or the like while stirring vigorously and continuously discharging, drying and, if appropriate, the foam compositions obtained hardens. One embodiment of the method is explained in more detail using the sketch. In a vessel 1 equipped with a stirrer, the mixture is continuously stirred with rapid stirring an about 2 0 / o aqueous solution of a butylnaphthalenesulfonic acid, which by the Inlet pipe 2 is inserted, ver-SCh; illl7lt. This solution can either be injected or by means of compressed air, which can flow in through the pipe 3, atomized into the vessel 1 are introduced. The feed screw 4 opening into this vessel promotes the In the vessel 1 created and always newly forming foam in one with a stirrer equipped boiler 5. On the way through the inlet roller 6 z. Legs aqueous synthetic resin solution, such as the solution of a condensation product prepared in a known manner made of urea and formaldehyde, injected. In the vessel 5 is stirred vigorously an intimate mixing achieved. Thereby, through the filler neck 7 filler or extenders of an organic or inorganic nature, fibrous or powdery Texture, hardening accelerators, additives and the like can be added. Of the Resin foam formed in the vessel 5 is continuously passed through the outlet 8 left in molds, then dried and hardened. By variation the exit speed of the synthetic resin foam, the inflow speed of the Foam solution and the synthetic resin solution can be the gelling state of the foam mass and largely influence their density.
The method is also suitable for processing solutions of urea-formaldehyde condensation products, for example, also for the production of foam masses made from phenol aldehyde resins, animal glues and similar products.
