Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom ι. März 1894 ab.Patented in the German Empire from ι. March 1894.
The present invention consists of a conveyor belt and its guide over inclined or horizontally lying rope pulleys, by virtue of which they are collapsed like a hose Belt acts either as an elevator or as a conveyor belt.
The use of the belt as a hose with increasing conveyance requires a strong edging on each side of the tape and a durable yet pliable connection this edging with the gang itself. The edging can vary depending on the too conveying material made of hemp or wire ropes, the strap can be made from hemp, rubber or asbestos strap. The connection between the two is made using hemp or wire mesh.
Of course, the material of the edging of the belt and the connector can be chosen freely and adapted to the material to be conveyed, such. B. the choice will depend entirely on the temperature of the material to be conveyed and its floury or grainy texture. For hot conveyed goods, e.g. For example, for pulverized coal in briquet factories, wire edging with asbestos belts will be used, while hemp edging with hemp belts will be more suitable for flour or grain. The drawing shows a combined vertical and horizontal conveying belt. The discontinued at A ground material falls through a funnel on the horizontally disposed, smooth running tape, which shortly after this feed for the purpose of the vertical transport of the material to be conveyed on obliquely running alternately smooth and grooved profilirte sheaves up runs in the inclination of approximately 30 0, whereby the band collapses like a tube. Once at the conveyed height, the belt runs either as a hose, if dust has to be avoided, or as a smooth belt horizontally over suitable guide rollers until the conveyed material falls into the hopper B.
From here it goes over the roller C, which is used to tension the belt, back to the pipe corner at the feed hopper A and thus forms a belt without end, which continues the goods at any angle of inclination and over long distances. Here, horizontal and vertical transport can follow one another as desired, since the belt length is unlimited.
The conveying quantity of the belt is extraordinary because of its continuous feeding large and can by increasing the speed up to approx. 3 m per Secunde can be increased considerably.
The entire conveyor belt can be encased in such a way that its operation is absolutely dust-free takes place, and this jacket can in turn be arranged by sagging openings so that no good is left lying in dead spots.
