Derartige Bücher wurden bisher nebeneinander in Regaleinrichtungen abgelegt oder übereinander gestapelt und bei der Fülle des zu präsentierenden Materials stellt es sich immer als äußerst zeitraubend heraus, die passenden Muster aufzufinden. Insbesondere bei Stoffmusern, beispielsweise bei Vorhangmustern, ist es bekannt, mehrere Muster zusammenzufassen und mit einem Hakenteil nach Art eines Kleiderhakens in Haltestangen aufzuhängen.
