Durch Patent Nr. 75229 ist eine Vorrichtung zum selbstthätigen Füllen und Entleeren von Senkgruben patentirt worden. Diese Vorrichtung bedingt, dafs durch das Abfallrohr keinerlei Gegenstände der Grube zugeführt werden, welche eine Verstopfung zur Folge haben müssen. Sitztrichter mit Geruchverschlüssen gewöhnlicher Art (Syphons) sind daher ungeeignet, auch würde durch den Umstand, dafs die Syphons zum Fortschaffen der Auswurfstoffe einen grofsen Wasserverbrauch bedingen, ein Hauptzweck der Gruben, nämlich die landwirthschaftliche VerwerthUng der Fäcalien in unverdünntem Zustande, vereitelt werden.
