Arrangement for sudden excitation of synchronous machines On synchronous machines,
especially on synchronous generators, there is often a sudden increase in excitation
,necessary. For example, synchronous generators should be used in the event of a short circuit
in the network and the resulting breakdown of the network voltage, the excitation
suddenly increased to several times that way by being sent in
of reactive current to maintain the voltage to some extent. For this sudden one
Excitation of the synchronous machine, it is known to dimension your excitation machine so
that they are a multiple of what is normally used to feed the excitation winding
Synchronous machine is able to generate the required voltage. The sudden one
Excitation, for example, a resistor in the excitation circuit of the exciter is short-circuited
and thereby greatly increases the voltage of the exciter machine. For the shock excitation of
Synchronous generators, it is important that the excitation current of the generator is within
is brought to the required level in a very short time. Already from the point of view
the stability of the network must be successful
Shock excitation
within a quarter period of the natural oscillation of the synchronous generator,
thus effective within 1/4 of a second, otherwise there is a risk of falling out of the way
of the individual generators. The known arrangement now points in this regard
There are still disadvantages because, on the one hand, a certain amount of time passes until after the short-circuit
the resistance in the excitation circuit of the excitation machine the current in this excitation circuit
has reached the required height, and on the other hand, the voltage of the exciter
also does not currently reach the high value, which means that the
Excitation current on the synchronous machine is adversely affected.
The invention relates to an arrangement for the sudden excitation of synchronous machines with a strong, z. B. caused by a short circuit in the network lowering the voltage of the synchronous machine. According to the invention, capacitors are connected to the excitation winding of the synchronous machine, which are charged to a voltage level which ensures the rapid excitation of the synchronous machine and the elimination of the voltage drop and which cause the excitation through their discharge. Since these capacitors already have full voltage from the first 3 oment and there are no delays due to the magnetic inertia of the exciter, the exciter current of the synchronous machine can be increased very quickly if the capacitor voltage is sufficient. It is already known in and of itself. to connect capacitors to the excitation winding of a direct current generator in order to bring about a rapid de-excitation of the direct current generator in this way. This direct current generator, as a generator of a Leonard set, has to feed direct current motors, and by connecting the capacitors, the excitation of the generator is to be brought to zero within a very specific time, namely within the time in which the motor fed by the generator is switched off the operating speed has been braked to zero speed. In order to achieve this, the capacitance of the capacitor must have a certain size, since otherwise the motor to be stopped is either not braked to zero speed or passes through zero speed and assumes an opposite direction of rotation. In contrast, in the arrangement according to the invention, the capacitor is intended to be used to rapidly excite a synchronous machine in order to counteract the collapse of the mains voltage in the event of a malfunction. A specific rating of the capacitor is not required for this rapid excitation. However, the largest possible capacitance of the capacitor is desirable in order to induce the excitation as quickly as possible.
The arrangement can be such that the capacitors during

the synchronous machine charged «-earth. The rectifier then prevents at the same time
a discharge of the capacitors, for example when the charging AC voltage drops.
In the event of the operating conditions that make shock excitation necessary,
So, for example, in the event of a short circuit in the network, the capacitors are now on

of the changes in the operating parameters that make the shock excitation necessary, i.e.

if, according to the exemplary embodiment of the drawing, the capacitors in normal operation

that they are charged by the voltage of the excitation winding. In the case of shock excitation
however, the capacitors are connected in series by means of an ion switch and
then discharge via the field winding.
Entladung
In the drawing, FIG. Ii shows the synchronous generator, the field winding 2 of which is connected to the field machine 3. The capacitors .4, 3 and G are then connected in parallel to the excitation winding 2. During normal operation, the capacitors are charged by the voltage appearing on winding 2 via valves:;, S, 9, io and ii. When the impulse excitation occurs, the capacitors .I, 3 and, with the help of the grid-controlled discharge vessels 1-z, 13 and iI, are connected in series so that their voltages add up. They are then discharged via the excitation winding 2. In order to reduce the time constant of this discharge, i.e. to increase the excitation current in the excitation winding as quickly as possible, the discharge takes place via the ohmic resistance 15 - To prevent a discharge via the excitation machine 3, there is between this and of the winding 2, the valve 16 is switched. The discharge vessels 12, 13 and 1q. are normally so excited at their control grids that they do not let any current through. The capacitors are then connected in parallel. The series connection is brought about in that the discharge vessels are made current-permeable with the aid of the control grid. This in-series circuit is triggered by the first sign of the operating process that requires the impulse excitation (e.g. steep current rise in the generator circuit) with practically no delay, as this steep current rise affects the control grid of the discharge vessels in a purely electrical manner.
in einer Exponentialkurve ab.The multiplication brought about by the series connection of the capacitors
the terminal voltage on the excitation winding 2-drives the excitation current quickly into the
Height. After reaching the maximum value corresponding to the multiplied terminal voltage
of the excitation current, this sounds according to the time constants of the circuit
in an exponential curve.
vollzieht. In Figure 2, the increase in the excitation current i is a function of
depicted in time. The increase caused by the discharge of the capacitors
takes about 1/4 second, while the subsequent fading away in about 5 seconds
accomplishes.
Simultaneously with the introduction of the surge excitation by capacitors
the excitation at the exciter of the synchronous machine can also be increased
which then, after the capacitor excitation has subsided, the increased excitation
of the synchronous machine (additional excitation). For example, the excitation voltage
the exciter by normal means depending on the load current of the synchronous machine
be controlled by about a resistor 17 in the excitation circuit of the machine 3
by means of a ratio equal to the load current of the synchronous machine i (e.g. by means of
Current transformer) electricity an additional voltage is generated. The machine 3
The resulting excitation of the machine r then takes place according to the curve i 'in Fig.
2. This curve is superimposed on curve i, which results from the capacitor excitation.
The resulting curve of the current in the excitation winding is therefore a
initially steeply to the multiple nominal value rising curve, which from there onwards
those that are effective for the duration of the relevant - operational incident (short circuit, load surge)
The value of the additional excitation decays.
