Brush holder for electrical machines If one looks at the development
of electrical machine elements from the very beginning to the present, see above
it must be noted that not much has changed in the structure of the brush holders
Has. The brushes are pressed onto the collector by springs. The pressure is in
in most cases much stronger than it is absolutely necessary, so that the wear and tear
is greatly accelerated by the brushes and collector. In addition, the brush pressure changes
with increasing wear of the brushes continuously, so that readjustment of the brush holder
is required at certain time intervals. With machines finitely higher stress
it is also dangerous to readjust during operation,
especially since some brush holders are difficult to access at all. Another not
The disadvantage that should be underestimated is that there are often several brushes on one machine

to press the brushes onto the collector with compressed air. Yet have such facilities

The invention is based on a known device, the simultaneous
Adjustment of the brush pressure on all brushes is used, with each brush holder pin
a pressure chamber connected to a pressure vessel via a ring line
is arranged and the pressure on the brushes of piston-like, in the pressure chamber

The fact that the piston-like elements of this known arrangement
are not hermetically sealed from the pressure chamber, but has the disadvantage of
As a result, uneven pressure is exerted on the individual brushes, with
a correct adjustment of the brushes according to their wear is impossible
will. There is also wear of brushes and collectors when using this arrangement
much too high due to the excessive pressure.

The invention is illustrated in the figures, for example.

According to Fig. I and 2 is above the brush box i, which is on

and the same pressure is present everywhere, then from one point
The desired brush pressure is set, for example by means of a contact manometer
will. A readjustment of the pressure is necessary at certain time intervals,
because the brushes wear out and the pressure space is enlarged.
According to the invention are joints or other parts that are subject to wear
are strongly subject and can lead to malfunctions, do not exist.
Lage.
einstellen. There is, however, another advantage: engines that work temporarily
are heavily overloaded, usually work to ensure spark-free operation,
with a very high brush pressure, which is actually not at all under normal load
would be necessary, which is why the wear on all these machines is excessive
is. Using a small air pump or, if the pressure is too high, by opening it
of a valve you can now, according to the invention, the brush pressure of all brushes .simultaneously
regulate so finely during operation in a period of seconds that the machine
is still running spark-free. Automatic pressure control is very simple,
so that the brush pressure can be fully adapted to the load conditions of the machine
can and therefore the collector and brushes are largely spared. To this end
For example, the pressure vessel 14 in Fig. 3 can be similar to the brush pressure device
be designed in Fig. i and 2. The piston rod 15 is in a vertical position

as a result of a higher load, a stronger current is generated, the iron core is in the
The coil is pulled and thus the air in the compressor is compressed, which increases the brush pressure

to adjust.
