Description

Process for the vacuum-tight connection of ceramic parts with metal parts It has been proposed to first apply a metal powder to ceramic parts, then sinter this application while maintaining its porous structure and finally by means of a high-melting solder which, without the formation of an alloy, forms the Metal of the porous coating is wetted and absorbed by it, the ceramic parts to connect with each other or with other parts in a vacuum-tight manner. As metal powder is the use of tungsten, molybdenum or rhenium, as solder silver, copper or hard solder has been proposed. With these connections there is now often the need to protect the vacuum-tight connection point from mechanical stresses. In itself it would make sense to use the ceramic parts and the metal parts for this purpose to be trained in such a way that they are simply screwed together or. by another mechanical method get a sufficient grip and the point of contact to be written afterwards. However, this method is inconvenient because the required dimensionally accurate machining of the parts is very expensive.

This difficulty is exacerbated in the method according to the invention overcome that the metal parts before or during the soldering through a electrothermal upsetting process so deformed and the shape of the ceramic body be adapted so that they are mechanically firmly anchored. The metal parts are compressed directly between the power supply electrodes. A This process provides a particularly secure hold of the metal parts on the ceramic parts achieved when recesses, grooves in the ceramic parts at the compression point Od. The like. Are provided that the metal part is to fill during the flow process. That Soldering the metal part with the ceramic part can either be done in one operation with upsetting or later. This last-mentioned procedure has the particular advantage that a mechanical stress on the solder joint almost is completely avoided.
