greifen. will.Device for regulating the current of an alternating current consumer with the aid of; two controllable arc discharge paths It is known that the current of a Weehsetstrom consumer can be regulated with the aid of two s.teuerh.'ärki arc discharge paths, for example grid-controlled mercury vapor discharge lines. Speaking of the two discharge paths, practice the current flow during one of the two half-waves of the alternating current. The size of the output given to the consumer is obtained by changing the ignition time credit. of the two discharge lines. Circuits of this kind have been used many times - especially for the control of welding machines: In the previously known circuits, the two controllable arc discharges used for the control are in the so-called opposite parallel connection in the connecting line between the consumer and connected to the feeding AC network, d, h. In this circuit, the cathode of one discharge path is directly connected to the anode of the other discharge path, and this parallel connection is in one of the two. Lines between consumption -, r and alternating current network. Although good results have been obtained with this circuit, it has one disadvantage which is unfavorable in several respects. As a result of the parallel connection in opposite directions, the cathodes of the discharge segments have different potentials. The consequence of this is that those switching arrangements which are known from the multi-anode or multi-phase rectifiers cannot be used without further ado, but that special measures must be taken in order to take into account the different potential of the cathodes. For the grid voltage source, this means the use of a so-called balancing transformer which, by inserting auxiliary voltages with reference to the grid voltage source, creates a common reference potential for both discharge paths. * Another disadvantage is the fact that two sets of excitation are necessary to maintain the continuous excitation of the mercury cathode necessary for operation at the two cathodes at different potentials. Finally, in the known circuits, again due to the potential difference, two separate discharge vessels must be used between the cathodes, provided that one does not deviate from the usual design of the discharge vessel and resort to special designs. want.
Entladungsstrecken.
According to the invention, the disadvantages identified above become obsolete
thereby avoided that the two for the regulation of the current of this alternating current consumer
d 'serving discharge paths on the cathode side jointly to the central tap
of a food tirans.fosmator can be connected, while the two anodes are connected via
a partial winding of the transformer feeding the consumer to the terminals
of the supply transformer are connected. The circuit after; the invention differs
thus differs from the known circuits initially in that the consumer two
receives separate primary windings. These two windings lie: both on the one hand
at each end of the secondary winding this feed transformer and on the other hand
on, one main electrode or anode of the two used for the '.Regelung
Discharge routes. It is essential that the cathodes of the two discharge paths
are directly connected to one another in a conductive manner and therefore have a common potential.
The two Xathodes are connected to the center tap of the secondary winding of the supply transformer.
The advantage of discovery lies in this; that the potential difference of the cathodes
is eliminated, and d @ ate the aids described above, which are used in the known
Circuits due to the potential difference between the cathodes are not required
are. Not only can the cathodes be connected to each other, but a normal one can be used

In; the = drawing shows an embodiment of the invention.
A transformer 2 is connected to an alternating current network. A discharge vessel

Verbrauchertransformators angeschlossen. It should also be mentioned that it is not absolutely necessary that the
both partial windings of the consumer transformer with the anodes of the discharge path
are connected. One can, too, without changing the principle of the invention
run the supply transformer with split windings and a consumer transformer for this
