Die vor einigen Jahren bekannt gewordene Dampfmaschine mit sechs im Kreise angeordneten Cyiindern (s. amerikanisches Patent Nr. 165 139) hat nicht den gewünschten praktischen Erfolg gehabt. Infolge zu geringer Expansion war der Dampfverbrauch zu grofs. Andererseits war die Kolbenbewegung eine unregelmäfsige. Dies hatte seinen Grund darin, dafs die gegen die schwingende Scheibe zur Drehung der Kurbel nicht festgedrückten Kolben sich vermöge ihrer lebendigen Kraft häufig von der Scheibe trennten und daher zu Stöfsen Veranlassung gaben.The steam engine that became famous a few years ago with six arranged in a circle Cyiinden (see American Patent No. 165 139) has not had the desired practical success had.
