Preparation of a solution of cellulose in sulfuric acid, which is used for the production of
Threads and other structures -is necessary, which special measures are required
hold back the breakdown of cellulose as much as possible.
Cellulose direkt in starker
bzw. lufttrockenem Zustand benutzt. For the preparation of suitable cellulose solutions in sulfuric acid are
two working methods in particular have been described so far. The first procedure is
in that one: the cellulose first with sulfuric acid of such concentration
treated so that no breakdown of the cellulose fiber structure takes place, then
Sulfuric acid is added, which is strong enough to dissolve the cellulose, and
finally again a dilution of the solution -the cellulose .with weaker sulfuric acid
undertakes. The second method is that you die.Cellulose directly in strong
Absorbs sulfuric acid, e.g. B. dissolves in sulfuric acid of over 60 ° J0 and the solution
then as in the first method with weaker sulfuric acid or with water
Diluted to a content below 601 ". In part, the solutions of the cellulose
in sulfuric acid of more than 60% even without further dilution to below the limit of dissolution
processed directly. In all of these processes, the cellulose was in 'dry
or air-dry condition.
In the process for the production of threads and bristles according to the invention, solutions of cellulose in sulfuric acid are to be used, which were made from a suspension of cellulose in weaker sulfuric acid by adding strong sulfuric acid and in which wet cellulose, as used in the cleaning and bleaching process .eß in the pulp mills is used as raw material. Such wet pulps can contain 500% water, for example. In them, the cellulose fibers are present in a well-opened form from the outset, so that the mutual association of the fibers does not need to be loosened. The pulp can be distributed in the sulfuric acid in a particularly short time and at a lower acid concentration than was previously possible. According to the invention, the wet pulp is evenly distributed in the multiple amount of dilute sulfuric acid, the concentration of which is such that a concentration of 52 to 57,010 H 2 SO 4 arises in the liquid in which the cellulose is distributed. The distribution is expediently carried out at a low temperature. The moist pulp is advantageously stirred into the sulfuric acid in a cooled or frozen state. Sufficient strong sulfuric acid is added to the mixture with cooling so that the cellulose dissolves. The resulting cellulose solutions then have a concentration of about 62 to 63% sulfuric acid, regardless of the dissolved cellulose.

Die Lösung kann sofort versponnen werden.EXAMPLE 1 490 g of a cellulose pulp consisting of 50010 cellulose and 500/0 of water is combined with 3000 g of a sulfuric acid of 580/0 H-SO4 at 15 ° arises.
