Wie bekannt, bestanden die bisherigen Flüssigkeitsheber, wie Fig. 1 zeigt, aus einem Behälter B₁, in welchen oben das Saugrohr 5, unten das Steigrohr T mündete. Infolge dieser Anordnung geschah es sehr oft, dafs beim Saugen die Flüssigkeit bis in den Mund gelangte, sowie dafs man beim Aufhören des Saugens immer die Saugöffnung mit dem Finger gut verstopfen mufste, sollte die Flüssigkeit nicht herausfliefsen.As is known, the previous liquid siphons, as shown in FIG. 1, consisted of a container B ₁ into which the suction tube 5 opened at the top and the riser T at the bottom.
