Es wurde nun gefunden, daß außer dem Verhältnis von Kieselsäure zu Wasser auch noch das Mengenverhältnis von Kieselsäure zu Alkali, für die Erzielung einer säuredichten Kittung wesentlich ist und daß insbesondere auch solche Massen für diesen Zweck vorteilhaft sind, bei deren Bereitung solche Wassergläser nach dem Hauptpatent verwendet werden, in denen das Verhältnis von Kieselsäure zu Na20 größer als 3,0 : r ist. Für die Verwendung in der Technik kommen Wassergläser mit einem Verhältnis von Si 02 :Na. 0 bis etwa 3,8 : r in Betracht. Die Verwendung solcher Wassergläser bietet den Vorteil, daß infolge des verhältnismäßig niedrigen Alkaligehaltes der Gehalt der Kittungen an wasserlöslichen Bestandteilen sehr niedrig ist, was für die Erzielung der größtmöglichen Dichte besondere Bedeutung hat. Außerdem bieten diese neuen Kittungen auch den Vorteil, daß in diesen auch entsprechend der verhältnismäßig geringen Alkalimenge des verwendeten Wasserglases nur verhältnismäßig niedrige Mengen von Erhärtungsbeschleunigern verwendet zu werden brauchen. Als Erhärtungsbeschleuniger dienen hierbei vorzugsweise Silikofluoride. Wegen der geringeren Alkalimenge im Anmachewasserglas können bei Verwendung von Silikofluoriden deren Menge für die Erhärtung geringer sein. Dadurch enthalten die fertigen Kittungen gemäß vorliegender Erfindung weniger Fluor als solche, bei ddren Bereitung alkalireicheres Wasserglas verwendet wurde, was günstig für die chemische Beständigkeit der Kittungen ist, insbesondere wenn diese Kittungen mit Schwefelsäure in Berührung kommen.It has now been found that, in addition to the ratio of silica to water, the quantitative ratio of silica to alkali is also essential for achieving acid-tight cement and that especially those compositions are advantageous for this purpose when such water glasses are prepared according to the main patent in which the ratio of silica to Na20 is greater than 3.0: r.
