Aber auch nach dem Trocknen ist die Festigkeit nicht sehr hoch, so daß die Briketts bei der Verhüttung wieder zu mehr oder weniger körnigem bzw. staubförmigem Gut zerfallen.. Die auf diese Weise hergestellten Briketts weisen eine gute Festigkeit auf. Die weichen Bitumen dienen hierbei als Bindemittel und verkitten die einzelnen Feinschi!efe.rteilchen miteinander. Eine nachfolgende Trocknwng ist nicht mehr erforderlich. Das Verfahren kann nach folgendem Beispiel ausgeführt werden: Der bituminöse Feinschiefer wird auf etw< o bis 6 mm abgesiebt und in dem Knetwerk einer Hochdruckwalzenpresse unter Zusatz von überlätztem Dampf von etwa 300° C his auf etwa ioo' erhitzt.
