Process for the production of fatty acids The invention relates to .ein
Process for the production of fatty acids by oxidation of fractions with the
Boiling limits of 25o to 20o ° of hydrocarbons from potassium oxide hydrogenation.
The new way of working consists in the individual fractions obtained from such fractions
with increasing boiling points and a boiling interval of q.o to 60 ° in itself
known way according to the increasing boiling point at increased temperature,
and. from about i oo to about i --o ',: oxidized.
Processes are known for the preparation of mixtures of aliphatic
Carbonsäuxen by oxidation - ", on hydrocarbon mixtures, which by the well-known
Hydrogenation of oxides of carbon and subsequent fracturing of the hydrogenation mixtures
have been won. These genniche essentially consist of an ordinary
Temperature of solid hydrocarbons, between 25o ° and, at usual pressure
converted, boiling at 50 °. The oxidation takes place at temperatures. from about 115 '
carried out. At a. such oxidation gives rise to a multitude of fatty acids.
It is known that such a mixture is technically difficult to combine with bad ones
Lets fractionate yields.
Zersetzungserscheinungen hervorrufen. Man
oxydiert deshalb erfindungsgemäß nicht über
120'. Bei einer solchen Temperatur würden
aber, falls man die Isohlenwasserstoffe nicht
fraktioniert, die niedermolekularen :#"nteilc
schon zu stark gespalten werden. Es ist daut'",:.
notwendig, daß man das zu oxydierende Ge-
misch vo:n Isohlenwasserstoffen in mehrere
Fraktionen verhältnismäßig engen Siedebe-
reichs, nämlich von 4o bis 6o', aufteilt und
die Oxydatio.iisteinperattiren entsprechend den
steigenden Siedepunkten dieser kleinen Frak-
tionen von .etwa i oo his etwa 120 steigert.
Erwähnt sei, daß man naturgemäß auch be-
reits früher Fraktionen aus techn.isoli -vor-
handenen Gemischen von Iwohlenwasserstoffen
der Oxydation -zugeführt bat. Hierbei handelt
bildet. Die Siedegrenzen dieser Fraktioneai
sind
Fraktion I . . . .. . . . 25o bis 3 i o', '
Fraktion 11 . . . . . . . . 3 i0' - 370',
Fraktion 111 ....... 370 - 4.20".
(Die Siedepunkte sind auf Narmaldruck
bezogen.)
Die Fraktionen werden in bekannter Weise
unter Zusatz von o,20`() KMnOt mit Luft
oxydiert, und zwar
Fraktion I bei i oo .
Fraktion I I - i i o°.
Fraktion 11I - i 2o-.
Nach Aufarbeitung der Oxydationserzeugnisse
ergeben sich Säuren mixt folgenden Vc-r-
seif ungszahlen
Fraktion 1 . . . . . . . . 320,
Fraktion II . . . . . . . . 2,-6.
Fraktion 111 ....... 225.
Aus diesen drei Fraktionen ergibt sich ein
Gehalt an. Fettsäuren von unter io Kohlen-
stoffatomen von i i.sOo. Würde man jedoch
das Isohlenwasserstoü'geinisch nicht durch
fraktionierte Diestill-atian unterteilen, sondern
für sich bei einer mittleren Tempratur von
115- unter sonst gleichen Bedingungen oxy-
dieren, so erhielte man e:» Gehalt an Fett-
säuren von unter io ICohlenstoifatoinen von
18,50':a.
Diese Gegenüberstellung zeigt. daß die
Gesamtausbeute .an technisch wertvollen Fett-
säuren durch die neue Ar beitsweisc beträcht-
lich gesteigert wird.
The new invention provides a way of avoiding the difficulties in fractionating the fatty acid mixture resulting from the oxidation of a hydrocarbon mixture with wide boiling limits, i.e. converting an existing mixture of hydrocarbons into fatty acids that are already in low, medium, and high yield. and high molecular weight are largely separated. Even more is achieved: the fact that the individual fractions are now able to oxidize under optimal conditions increases the overall yield of technically valuable acids. It is known that higher molecular hydrocarbons must be oxidized at higher temperatures than lower molecular ones, since otherwise an economically viable oxidation time cannot be guaranteed. It is also known that. too high temperatures splits and Cause decomposition. Man
therefore does not over-oxidize according to the invention
120 '. At such a temperature you would
but if you don't get the isohydrocarbons
fractionated, the low molecular weight: # "nteilc
already split too much. It is there '",:.
necessary that one
mixing of: n isohydrocarbons into several
Fractions relatively narrow boiling
Reichs, namely from 4o to 6o ', divides and
the oxidation is carried out in accordance with the
increasing boiling points of this small fraction
tions from about i oo to about 120 increases.
It should be mentioned that one naturally also
already earlier fractions from technical isoli -vor-
existing mixtures of hydrocarbons
the oxidation -delivered bat. This acts
but once there is a relationship between parliamentary groups
moderately wide boiling range, such as
wise those in petroleum rectification
accumulating components, such as sclitverb`ticine,
Lubricating oil, paraffin, pcclibes, tarid parts and the like,
and on the other hand one had not recognized
that there is an existing mixture at the
hydrogen on immediately technically
reversible fatty acids directly with
oxidize hives when cut into small ones
Dividing fractions and thereby the oxidation
temperature according to the boiling points
lets rise.
example
A. Isolilenosydriydrierttngserzeulg.nis with
the boiling limit of 25o to .12o 'becomes one
fractional distillation under vacuum
t #, - orfen, and three fractions are
forms. The boiling limits of this fraction ai
are
Group I. . . ... . . 25o to 3 i o ','
Parliamentary group 11 . . . . . . . . 3 i0 '- 370',
Fraction 111 ....... 370 - 4.20 ".
(The boiling points are at nominal pressure
based.)
The fractions are in a known manner
with the addition of o, 20` () KMnOt with air
oxidized, namely
Group I at i oo.
Group II - iio °.
Group 11I - i 2o-.
After processing the oxidation products
results in acids mixes the following Vc-r-
soap numbers
Parliamentary group 1. . . . . . . . 320,
Group II. . . . . . . . 2, -6.
Group 111 ....... 225.
From these three factions there is one
Content of. Fatty acids of less than 10 carbons
material atoms from i i.sOo. One would, however
the iso-hydrocarbon does not go through
fractionated Diestill-atian subdivide, rather
for itself at an average temperature of
115- under otherwise identical conditions oxy-
dated, one would get e: »Content of fat
acids of less than 10 carbon atoms of
18.50 ': a.
This comparison shows. that the
Total yield of technically valuable fat
acids due to the new working method
is increased.
