Dr. KARL HOEPFNER in FRANKFURT a. M. Darstellung von Kupferoxydul. Dr. KARL HOEPFNER in FRANKFURT a. M. Representation of copper oxide.
Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 19. Juli 1892 ab.Patented in the German Empire on July 19, 1892.
According to the present invention, copper oxide is obtained from ores and metallurgical products in the following way: -
Ground ores containing copper sulphide and metallurgical products are made expedient by a heated solution of copper chloride in sodium chloride solution or any alkali at all, which Can dissolve copper chloride in abundance, but best with a calcium chloride copper chloride solution freed from their copper content. This creates copper chloride in the lye. This copper chlorine liquor is made up of the ore separated and then from dissolved silver, bismuth, iron, as well as from arsenic, antimony, Lead etc. by copper, copper oxide, copper oxide carbonate respectively. Copper oxychloride, oxygen or by alkalis, alkaline earths or their carbonates or sulfides if possible freed.
The pure copper chloride solution obtained is then divided. The one portion but is treated with alkalis or their carbonates or caustic lime, in such a way, that all copper or only a portion of it in the form of pure cuprous oxide (Cu 2 O) or carbonate of cuprous oxide is precipitated. . Should this precipitation still lead respectively. Contain arsenic or antimony, these impurities can easily, e.g. B. by alkali solutions, are removed therefrom. The copper oxide obtained in this way almost chemically pure can now be further processed in any way.
The copper content of the other lye portion is converted into copper chloride. This happens by the action of acids under the influence of atmospheric air or of oxygen, respectively. also probably through the action of chlorine. Particularly beneficial and cheap is the use of sulphurous acid for this purpose, which is found in the lye is oxidized to sulfuric acid, the latter by calcium chloride with the formation of Hydrochloric acid is precipitated again.
In Formeln ausgedrückt, stellt sich das ganze Verfahren dar wie folgt:Expressed in formulas, the whole procedure is as follows:
ι. 2 Cu Cl2 + 2 Cu S — 2 Cu2 Cl2 +2 S, 2 Cm2 Cl2 ι. 2 Cu Cl 2 + 2 Cu S - 2 Cu 2 Cl 2 + 2 S, 2 Cm 2 Cl 2
=: Cu2 O + Cm2 CZ2 =: Cu 2 O + Cm 2 CZ 2
+ Ca Cl2, Cu2 Cl2+SO2 + 2 0+H2 O= Cu2 Cl2O+ Ca Cl 2 , Cu 2 Cl 2 + SO 2 + 2 O + H 2 O = Cu 2 Cl 2 O
4. Cm2 Cl2 0 + H2 SO, +CaCl2 = 2 CmCl2 4. Cm 2 Cl 2 O + H 2 SO, + CaCl 2 = 2 Cm Cl 2
+ H2 0 +Ca S O4, + H 2 0 + Ca S O 4 ,
5. 2 Cm Cl2 + 2 Cm S = 2 Cu2 Cl2 + 2 S 5. 2 Cm Cl 2 + 2 Cm S = 2 Cu 2 Cl 2 + 2 S
U. S. W.U. S. W.
The latter can be extracted from residues containing metallic copper using this method also in the form of copper oxide respectively. carbonic acid copper oxide.
In this way, in continuous Kreisprocefs from raw ores BEZW. Metallurgical products or copper residues copper oxide produced in any quantity and for any purpose and the copper content of the extraction liquor can be kept constant.
