Description

Hand-operated magneto-electric machine For small, hand-operated operated alternators, especially for hand lamps, measuring and signaling devices, one uses for the generation of the excitation field usually pole wheels made of highly magnetizable an Steel with the addition of cobalt or aluminum and nickel. Leave with such pole wheels achieve relatively strong magnetic fields and the weight and dimensions keep the machines small. To save high quality steels and also when using them of magnet wheels made of ordinary steel Weight and dimensions of the generator small to be able to hold becomes part of the required excitation field according to the invention generated by the induced armature winding by adding to the useful or an additional winding of the induced armature a capacitor is connected in parallel. It is well known To energize asynchronous alternators by means of capacitors, however, will the entire excitation power is generated with the help of the capacitors. One also has already for magnetizing the magnet wheel arranged in a generator made of magnetic steel provided that the armature winding can be used when the machine is running is connected to a capacitor. The generator according to the invention acts On the other hand, it is a question of the fact that in operation the remanent magnetism of the steel pole one part and the reduced armature winding the other part of the excitation power should deliver.

In Fig. T, the voltage generated by the pole wheel alone @ is through the characteristic curve is shown as a function of the useful current J, the power through the characteristic b. The additional excitation by means of a capacitor results in for the voltage E the characteristic curve c, for the power L the curve d. In Fig. 2 is an embodiment of the machine shown as it is used in flashlights finds. This is done by hand between the poles of the laminated stator core e actuated pole wheel / rotatably arranged. The flywheel can be stamped from layered Sheet steel or also. Consist of one piece. There are two windings on your anchor "a, and h, of which the former is used to feed the incandescent lamp i. The additional winding h is connected to the capacitor k, it generates a higher one Voltage than the useful winding g so a capacitor of small capacity is used can be. If electricity is only generated for a short time, it can be advantageous Electrolytic capacitor find application, the voltage on the same chosen becomes that the most favorable utilization of the capacitor results. Utility and additional winding can also be connected in series on the capacitor.
