das i - 9
Metal casting mold The known permanent casting molds and cores made of metal for hardening and compacting the inner and outer surfaces of castings have the disadvantage, as do the scare clips used for the same purpose, that they form large areas of the casting mold, which hinders the discharge of gas and air, and flawed surfaces due to rapid cooling and solidification of the casting compound, the cast body is difficult to work with. When casting manhole ring parts, cores formed from sand are already used in hollow metal molds, so that the cast body is cast on the outside against metal and on the inside of recesses or cavities against the sand. This does not eliminate the problem that large parts of the casting mold consist entirely of metal. The known metal cores with a central bore and radial channels for the gas and air discharge have the disadvantage that. they have to be specially made for each shape. Furthermore, both metal casting molds and metal cores are known whose surfaces touched by the cast metal are covered with a layer of mass from which gas and air are conducted to the outside through channels made in the wall of the casting mold or the core. In this core and casting mold, the body is' cast against pure sand surfaces of the mold and the core. The known sand cores interspersed with metal balls are not permanent cores and do not guarantee that the balls are evenly distributed on the outer surface, on which the uniformity of the hardening and density of the casting depends essentially. In the case of centrifugal casting molds lined with molding compound, the lining of which is held by projections of the metal mold, the projections of the inner wall of the mold are held so high that they come into contact with the casting metal and consequently this inner surface of the mold is formed from alternating metal surfaces and sand surfaces. This arrangement is made for the purpose that, by the rapid cooling down of the cast metal to the metal surfaces on the rib-shaped projections e wu'Isttifti strip in the casting form, which the i - 9 nvischen them located, nor flüssi, -1 "cast metal and so 'set it in rotation, which prevents slipping between the casting material and the mold. There are also ducts leading to the outside for the discharge of gas and air from the lining of the mold. The uneven solidification of the casting metal, Z> ZD t' which may be advantageous for centrifugal casting from a very specific point of view, is a major disadvantage for all other casting molds Connected to the mold wall, they are therefore not insulated by sand.
Compared to the known, the invention consists in that the metal inserts coming into direct contact with the cast metal, separated from each other and from the box walls by sand, on the box walls - z. B. are fastened by bolts. This results in a uniform, stress-free hardening and sealing of the cast surfaces. The speed of cooling and the degree of hardening can be regulated at will by measuring the wall thickness of the insulated metal mold parts in contact with the casting metal and by applying the known interruptions to the inner metal mold wall surface by sand inlays. According to the invention a metal mold part is formed so For example, that in a molding box a number of metal strips by far the one another and are secured by the bottom of the box by means of bolts, so that they are pulped by the sand from the box and insulated from each other. The metal mold according to the invention also offers Z, the possibility of embedding corners and edges of the casting as well as other surface parts of the casting to be machined in sand, so that the casting has a softer metal texture at these points. which facilitates its processing.

When the box is filled with sand, alternate strip-shaped metal surfaces with strip-shaped sand surfaces (-) in the upper side of the Forrnkastens. The strip-shaped metal rails 5 are fixed at a certain distance to the box bottom by means of screws 8 and nuts 9 , so that the entire extent of the bottom is covered with a layer of sand and thus, like the rails 5 , is protected against warping. This sand layer also connects the strip-shaped sand parts 6 and secures their position. Holes are provided in the bottom of the box as air and gas discharge channels. Of course, the box surface can have any design that corresponds to the outer surface of the cast body. Likewise, the metal parts 5 can be any other shape, for. B. cube shape, sit loading.
