Process for the production of enamel The use of Borsäluieverbindungen
as is well known, in the enamel leads to the following advantages: Favorable influence on the expansion coefficient,
Reduction of the fusibility of the enamel, creation of a good surface gloss.
While @es succeeds, one or the other of these three characteristics. By means of conversion
of misalignment while saving on hemline connections, there is none
Substance of boric acid readily; replace. can.
B. i a bis
15 0lo B2 03 herzustellen.
@eutektischer
Schmelzgemische und deren Verwendung als Emailrohstoffe.Despite many attempts, @es has not succeeded in producing bar-free enamels with the same properties as those with higher boric acid contents, e.g. B. ia to 1 5 0lo B2 03 to produce. The cause of these difficulties is not least the change in the glass structure of the connections formed when the enamel is melted. In this regard, experiments can be mentioned in which the number of components has been increased; to correct the meltability and expansion of the enamel. In the same direction are the processes of melting several frits and grinding them together on the mill, finally the production of so-called @eutectic melt mixtures and their use as enamel raw materials.
It is known that when the boron compounds are reduced in an enamel offset, the alumina compounds which are difficult to melt and which increase expansion must be reduced at the same time. Since these are mostly raw materials that contain only a small part of A1203, the offset build-up is completely disturbed by this, and there are deviations from the properties shown above. Investigations. have shown that a much smaller reduction in the alumina raw materials with a simultaneous reduction in the boric acid content of the offset is required when using high alumina raw materials known per se as raw materials for enamel production, e.g. B. bauxite, alumina hydrate, also blast furnace slag, as it is obtained in the acidic or basic blast furnace process ior during desulfurization of the pig iron produced by the acid blast furnace process, or similar, natural or artificial alumina products, e.g. B, waste glass, used from the glass pockets of the port ovens. It has been found that the previous offsets have to be changed the least and that the properties of the enamels, as one would expect when using higher boric acid contents, are best obtained with a reduction in the raw materials containing candy if, according to the invention, the ratio of B2 03: A12 03 calculated in such a way that the contents behave like the equivalent weights or their multiples, ie like 1.00 : r, ¢ 5, in the email. Here, aluminum-containing, non-oxide compounds are also to be taken into account as A1203. It is therefore expedient to introduce the main proportion of alumina into the batch through the aforementioned aluminum-rich raw materials and to take into account the other components contained therein when calculating the chemical composition of the enamel.
