Description
Antenna arrangement for generating radiation for the implementation of aircraft blind landings. The main patent deals in particular with the formation of space radiation generated by means of very short waves, which is used to define a guide path for aircraft landing purposes. According to the features of the main patent, the horizontal section through the spatial direction should have a dip in the direction of landing, i.e. have a characteristic shape so that the approach control plane, which runs obliquely to the plane of symmetry of this diagram, intersects the same along straight lines of constant field strength. To generate the spatial radiation, the main patent provides an antenna arrangement which consists of two single antennas fed in single phase, the. at a distance of about 3.87 A, or 495 .1 are arranged.
It is now often, desirable, by one and the same transmitting device to mark several glide paths, for example two exactly opposite one another Determine runways what to do with the antenna arrangement specified in the main patent is not feasible.
According to the invention, therefore, two are used to generate the spatial radiation fed dipoles are provided in which the current ratio is different from one and the currents are also out of phase with one another. According to. the other Invention can add to this antenna arrangement Reflectors provided if only two landing directions are to be determined.
Fig. I shows the horizontal radiation propagation with the landing directions, how it is achieved by the antenna arrangement according to the invention, and Fig. a the arrangement of the radiators with the complete1 horizontal diagram.
In Fig. I the center of radiation is denoted by S and the guiding plane, within which the landing should take place, with L, namely should in the figure landed from the right or left using a straight glide path. The radiation center is located at a distance d sideways from the control level. The control level can be known in Way can be generated with the help of a Schellerbake; by the way, she is interested in Connection .with the present invention not. The radiation pattern that is generated by the radiation center S, has' seen in the horizontal that with ND, designated form. Otherwise, folded down are entered in the drawing plane the space curves G1 and G., which are the two resulting straight-line glide paths represent. It can be seen from the figure that because of the symmetrical design of the radiation diagram, two similar Gleinvege can be generated.
Fig. Z shows the horizontal diagram ND for the definition of two Approach directions _ as well as the antenna arrangement schematically. There are two fed vertical dipoles Dl and .D. = present, which are at a distance of a wavelength of 2 from each other are set up. In the selected example, the antenna currents behave like 1 : 4 and have a phase shift of 45 @ against each other, which is also shown in the figure is entered. Behind each dipole is at a distance)? / 4 another one, Set up a radiation-coupled dipole acting as a reflector. By. modification the size ratio and the phase shift of the two antenna feed currents let yourself. produce a variety of different diagrams of a similar nature. The closer the current ratio approaches the value one, the deeper the dip becomes. and the closer the phase shift approaches the amount 9o @, the smaller it becomes the minimum angle cF. So you have it in your hand, the depth of the saddle as also to change their direction within wide limits, whereby the glide path changes can be adapted to a wide variety of local conditions.
