Cooling device for the runners of long turbo generators The main patent
670 Big concerns arrangements to thereby rotate the rotors of long turbo-generators
to cool that air is fetched from the space between the stator and rotor and into the music room
of the rotor is supplied. This air is then carried on axially and arrives
.at another position back into the space between the stator and rotor.
The inlet and outlet openings are inclined with respect to the radial direction
: executed, namely the inlet opening in the sense of the movement of the rotor,
the outlet opening in the opposite sense. According to the main patent, the
Air is supplied to the inside of the rotor groove through recesses in the wedges. This arrangement
has the advantage that the rotor body itself does not require any additional machining
Consideration is subject to the manufacture of inlet and outlet openings, and
since the rotor in and of itself is the most difficult part of the turbo generator, so
is saved in terms of manufacturing time and costs. To
Claim q. of the main patent can: but also some of the recesses in the wedge,
to be provided in part in the adjacent inductor tooth. Here the rotor body is sooty
edited, as well as another proposed arrangement where. these
Openings are created through holes in the rotor teeth.
(in Abb. i punktiert einsgezeichnet, weil

Hereinafter. should the application of the claim q. of the main patent
contained idea on rotomes with inserted teeth are described, which the
Subject of the additional invention forms. -. Since the inserted teeth are also outside
of the actual rotor body he s are made, so the recesses cannot
can only be transferred to the wedges, but also to the inserted teeth. in the
in general, the space between a tooth and the coil will then be too cool,
although, even with inserted teeth, the same arrangement is possible as in
Patent 67o Big, namely to use two coils per slot that have an interior space for
Leave cooling free. Fig. I shows such a space between tooth i and coil 2.
The inlet opening, which is inclined in the direction of rotation, becomes through recess 3 in the wedge and in the tooth
created by recess q. in the tooth. (dotted one in Fig. i, because
offset from the inlet opening) the air can exit. Fig 2
shows in axial section the inlet opening 3 and the outlet opening

and the approximate course of the air movement.
The spools. can be designed in a trapezoidal shape so that they have the
fill the entire space between two adjacent teeth: in this case, will
Preserve the airways through recesses in the coil sides. In Fig.3 and .l is
such an arrangement with the tooth i, the coil a, the inlet opening 3, the outlet opening
4. and path 5 shown in the coil.
In Abb.
The airway can be changed in a variety of ways. In fig.
5 and 6 are shown. how the air can be forced to go down to the root of the tooth.
The air flows from the tooth through a recess 6 in the tooth in the root of the tooth
Cooling space on the left of the tooth to the cooling space on the right of the tooth; i puts in turn
the tooth, 2 the coil .3 the inlet opening, 4. the outlet opening. It is
So one coil when flowing down, the adjacent coil when flowing up
chilled. The recesses are to be relocated, so that the air is always forced
is to make a movement in the axial direction.
The air can also capture two neighboring cold rooms at the entrance,
as shown in Fig.7; i restores the tooth. 2 the coils, 3 the enlarged
Inlet opening and .l represent the axially offset, enlarged outlet opening
But air can also go down into the cavity; guided below the tooth root
from where they are initially. is moved axially and at another point
of the same tame or in an adjacent tooth (after passing through a transverse groove)
got back up.
