Die Plastikkappe bietet dem Auge zwar einen Schutz gegen mechanischen Druck von außen, doch wird das Tragen der Brille wegen der stark auftragenden Form dieses Verbandes als besonders hinderlich empfunden. Darüber hinaus wird die Lichtundurchlässigkeit, eine der Hauptforderungen an ein derartiges Produkt , nur ungenügend erreicht, da sich die starre Plastikkappe des Verbandes dem Augenhöhlenrand nicht zufriedenstellend anpaßt, so daß noch Licht von den Seiten in das abgedeckte Auge eintreten kann.
