Description
Adjusting screws for adjusting the height of the drive gears of rack-and-pinion locomotives . load-bearing locomotive frame is known to be based on rack-and-pinion locomotives Car body depends on adhesion wheels, and it is important that the height of the gears compared to the pinion rod is adhered to exactly to a certain extent. There Now the adhesion wheels wear out over time and it continues to be towed the cogwheel locomotives in the workshop is required to keep the cogwheels up over To raise the top of the rail, special measures must be taken to to be able to change the height of the gears. Up until now one has especially looked at electrically powered rack-and-pinion locomotives were helped by having the drive motors including the gear drive not built into the frame, but a special one Provided inner frame, the z. B. lifted by adjusting screws relative to the main frame and could be lowered. In the case of relatively small rack-and-pinion locomotives this solution may still be satisfactory. But are vehicles built where three or four drive gears with the associated motors are required, so there are considerable difficulties with this solution. The main disadvantage is here in the fact that the support structure, which is usually designed as an inner frame, for the Gear transmission must be constructed very powerful, but on the other hand also the The main frame must have such a rigidity that it can withstand the operational stresses has grown. In practice, this results in a considerable increase in weight. A certain amount of material can be saved by using the main and Inner frame for the operating state firmly coupled together. But that’s the This is associated with the disadvantage that very precise fitting work has to be done and continues to do so but also the sliding surfaces must be protected from rust and dirt, what especially with the rough overburden) is not always possible. Another The disadvantage of this device is that, especially in the case of larger locomotives the brake linkage and the compressed air line must be attached to the inner frame «earth, so that it is necessary to adjust this when adjusting the gears as well. object The present invention is to avoid all these disadvantages, which is done by that the support or pivot pins with which the car body rests on the running gear, are designed as adjusting screws. Appropriately, one becomes facilities here allow easy adjustment of the adjusting screws. So one will also ensure that not only the two side supports, but also the middle one; Support pins adjusted from both sides of the locomotive can be.
This results in a number of advantages. You can now the wheel tires by 'readjusting the support heights up to that of friction locomotives take advantage of the usual measure. The supports are readjusted after every 10 mm of wear and the meshing of the teeth does not suffer despite increased tire wear. One can also Set the supports so far higher that the drive gears with the rack except Intervention come. Then the rack-and-pinion locomotive can, even when the rack is in operation is below the upper edge of the rail, if necessary, traveled over normal friction lines will. Finally, the suspension of the locomotive is adjusted by adjusting the support pins in no way affected.
Two exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing.
Fig. I shows a heavy cogwheel locomotive on two bogies with support of the locomotive body in three points. Figs. Z and 3 illustrate in two views a lighter locomotive with two running axles, whereby also a three-point support is provided.
D. shows an embodiment for the adjusting device of the spherical support pin of a central support, while in Fig. 5 a flat side support is shown. According to Fig. I, the housing of the locomotive a rests with the built-in engines b and the drive gears c by means of the spherical support pin c1 and the flat side supports e on the bogies. In the lighter vehicle according to FIG left barrel axis h. over the spherical center support i and on the right running axis h over the flat side supports lk.
Fig. .T shows the threaded, spherical supporting pin 1, which in the mounted on the cradle of the bogie or on an axis running in pan is supported. The support pin 1 is screwed into the bore of a worm wheel o which is mounted in the upper frame n of the locomotive and is provided with a nut thread. The worm wheel o is driven by the worm p via the worm shaft q. The support pin l prevented from turning by the square r moves in the vertical direction and the locomotive frame is raised or lowered depending on the direction of rotation of the nut o.
In order to protect the thread of the pin, it is given an exchangeable one Enclosure s, via which it is located on the upper frame. can support. This is at the same time the pressure is removed from the worm wheel bearings and the lubricant remains even with normal operation in the warehouses. Thus, the adjustment device can also can be operated without increased friction after a long period of rest. The supports can can be easily adjusted from the outside, since the worm shaft q, as well from Fig. i, and 3 can be seen, pulled out on both sides to the locomotive frame is.
In Fig. 5, t means one of the two lateral support pins. This is based on the sliding surface u attached to the cradle of the bogie. the The support pin is set in the same way as shown in FIG. 4. Has been explained.
