Description

Production of titanium pigments It has been found that titanium pigments with valuable properties when one supplies titanium dioxide or such Compounds with Ti203 or with other Tiiii-containing compounds and in the presence of A1203, Cr2 03, Fee 03, V203 and / or Rh203 or of compounds which produce these oxides act on each other at about 8oo to 100o ° to the exclusion of oxidizing influences or titanium dioxide with the addition of metallic Al, Cr, Fe, V and / or Rh heated about 800 to 100 degrees. Depending on the composition, the result is pigments with shades of color of black-gray, pigeon blue, yellow, golden yellow, orange, and white of good opacity Surprisingly good values in terms of chalk strength and cement strength. All of these colored and white pigments have surprisingly good fastness properties, are therefore very suitable for special demands and are therefore technically valuable. Besides rust protection, enamel and glaze colors, they can also be used, among other things as a dye for the spin dyeing of rayon. Embedded in artificial silk yielded they have very nice matt and color effects, which also have the advantage that they are the Do not adversely affect the properties of the rayon itself.

The new pigments are produced in such a way that the individual components are allowed to act on one another at a higher temperature, care must be taken to exclude oxidizing influences. For production you can, for. B. display a titanium hydroxide paste with a titanium 1,1 salt solution and after adding the other metal compound, heat the mixture to 800 to 100 "while keeping away oxidizing influences and optionally with the addition of reducing substances such as carbohydrates, Sb203 or 'As203,". It is also possible to work in such a way that TiO. Is intimately mixed with corresponding amounts of Al, Cr, Fe, V and / or Rh in the finely divided metallic state (powder, dust, colloidal solutions or the like) and this mixture is incorporated Exclusion of oxygen heated to 800 to 100 "for about 1 hour. Examples 1. 2o kg of titanium hydroxide paste (with about Jq.0 / p water content) are indicated with 25 l of titanium chloride solution (with about; above Ti.Oa; liter @), to which about 2509 Cr.03 in the form of soluble salts were added. The mass is then calcined for about t hours at 90 to 960 g, with the exclusion of oxidizing influences.

The result is a reddish-yellow pigment that is so stable that it becomes Among other things, it is suitable as a color body for enamels and glazes, which have a yellow color to golden yellow color.

Glüht man t bis 2 Stunden bei 90o bis 95o , so entsteht ein gut deckendes Wei"@pigment, dos für den Außenanstrich sehr geeignet ist.2. 2o leb titanium hydroxide paste (with about 140, u water content) rubbed well with 2 kg of A1 (0 H) 3 and then made into a paste with 2o to 301 titanium chloride solution. If you anneal for 2 hours at 90o to 95o, the result is a well-covering white pigment, dos is very suitable for exterior painting.

Man erhält ein dunkelblaugraues Pigment, das sowohl filtden Außenanstrich als auch als Färbe- und Mattierungsmittel vorzüglich geeignet ist.3. 20 kg of titanium dioxide become intimate with t kg of the finest aluminum dust mixed and heated in an oxygen- and nitrogen-free atmosphere at 80o to t ooo °. A dark blue-gray pigment is obtained that filters both the exterior paint and is eminently suitable as a coloring and matting agent.
