Description
Ceramic closure body for electrical discharge vessels, in particular for small electron tubes It is known in tube technology to use ceramic sealing bodies to use where the lead-through wires for the electrodes are in wells the ceramic are melted down with the help of metal or glass melt fluxes and wherein the ceramic closure body with the vacuum vessel through one in the parting line both arranged melt flow is connected. There are also electrical discharge vessels known by a metallic disc that carries the feed-through pins and is covered with a layer of glass.
The crack-free fusion of ceramic surfaces with glass is based on the ability of these two substances to bond with each other. It has been shown that this bond for so long through the choice of the surface profile of the ceramic body can be influenced favorably, as by the same no additional, endangering Glass stresses are caused; however, this is the case with a large number of glasses, even if they match the ceramic in terms of their coefficient of thermal expansion, this is the case. Certain Soft glasses, however, are now also subject to this influence after experiments have been carried out then less if they differ in their expansion behavior from that of the ceramic Substance differ relatively far. This has such an effect that with such If the layer thickness is sufficient, overmelts are possible for glasses, which prove to be unusually stress-relieved. One has for this purpose for it To ensure that using a soft glass a particularly intimate Connection between the ceramic body and the covering glass layer through the shape of the ceramic body or its surface comes about; of course can have a similar effect by choosing a suitable structure for the ceramic body can be achieved, so that by means of the shaping and / or the porosity a compact, solid, glass-ceramic combined body is created, its material parts intertwine firmly and intimately.
The ceramic closure body is therefore, according to the invention, with through-holes or drill holes that are not used to accommodate power supply lines, and is then covered with a layer of glass that completely or partially covers the closure body, melted over. This glass layer also fills the holes or through-holes the end.
The number of holes distributed over the ceramic surface and their cross-section are to be selected according to the intended use of the body, the type of glass and according to the amount of glass available or prescribed. The flow of the softened glass into the holes or holes in the ceramic disk is created, especially when the former is made up of a large number of smaller ones, evenly over the surface; distributed holes is and the disc structure also itself is still porous after solidification of the glass, a both extremely stronger than before alone strikingly low-stress in its glass subcombination body with predominantly only the best, even more improved properties of the combined in ihin part substances. It can be viewed as a ceramic base body with a glass enrichment on one side and therefore has the properties required for the compact construction of discharge vessels in an almost predetermined way. It is difficult to soften and allows a system to be built up on the ceramic without any risk of endangering the system stability when heated. The keratnik can consist of a dielectrically and capacitively favorable material and thus ensures a material that is essential for high frequencies, for example. low-loss system fixation; this can be done by means of metal buckle flows, which guarantee unconditional rigidity of the holding wires up to the highest temperatures desired in this context. The piercing or drilling of the ceramic body results in a noticeable low tension in the glass layer reaching into its holes, which suggests that it is nothing to do with a glass body interspersed with extremely solid, rigid material parts, whose hot temperature changes result in tension forces from these For this reason, with disc-like bodies drilled or drilled through in this way, in contrast to solid ones, it is possible to give the glass layer as well as the ceramic body any desired shape and any required cross-section, with other ceramic and to penetrate metallic bodies or to let the glass layer protrude or underneath the edge of the ceramic body and to fuse them with metal bodies (wires, sheets or rings put over them) A combination of unevenness of its surface, joints between it and a surrounding metal ring to be melted over, unequal woods of the parts to be melted over, whether these consist of the same or a different ceramic material or metal, or inaccuracies in the execution and assembly of the Parts to be melted together on the covering glass layer practically not at all. As a result of the low tension of its glass part and the shape and porous structure of its difficult to soften ceramic part, which is interrupted by cavities, the body has a considerable resistance to temperature changes that can be easily tolerated by direct chilling. The drilling through or drilling of the whole body can be supplemented or replaced by a high orosity of the structure of the ceramic body, since in this 1 # all the glass penetrates into the pores opening out onto the surface of the ceramic body and a similar one when solidifying A molded, disc-shaped, dome-like glass body with many finger-like attachments is created, between which there are tension-absorbing ceramic rigid pieces. It is therefore possible to carry out a large number of even more complicated structural arrangements without glass tensions which significantly endanger the durability occurring during the glass solidification, and such overmelted and manufactured bodies can be cooled down unusually quickly from the red-hot or thin liquid state of the glass, without in the glass layer show only the finest cracks. A body constructed according to the invention can be completely manufactured on its own and then joined as a closure part to the other components of a discharge vessel by smelting, or all or some of the vessel components can be built up on it and the vessel shell then under certain circumstances with the help of a glass bead protruding over the edge of the body or a glass ring pushed over it can be fused with it. In its simplest embodiment, as well as in numerous modifications, it is ideally suited for the production of high-vacuum-tight power supplies for vacuum vessels, since, due to the low tension of its glass cover, a larger number of supply or holding wires can be accommodated on it in a very small space and this as a result of the high softening point of the ceramic part carrying them remain rigidly fixed even at high temperatures. Nevertheless, in the interest of rapid production, soft glass can be used for the cover layer, since this only creates the seal and does not flow out even at high temperatures, but always sticks to the ceramic grid; Thus, even at very high temperatures, neither the holding of the vessel system nor the dimensional stability of the closure body or the vacuum tightness of the vessel suffer.
In the drawings, the closure body according to the invention is in different Embodiments illustrated in a schematic manner.
Fig. I shows it as a porous, ceramic disk i, uniformly of many distributed holes z interspersed, in longitudinal section and top view. He's with the Glass layer 3 melted over, onto which a glass or metal bulb or tube 4. has melted as the vessel shell. The tube ¢ sits here on the same side as the glass melt flow.
Fig. 2 shows a longitudinal section through a porous ceramic disc 5 provided with through-holes, which is designed with tubular, ceramic, preferably low-loss bodies 6 through which the power supply lines 7 lead. The glass flux 8 is placed over everything. In Fig.3, a similar porous body 9, provided with conical bores io, is shown, into which the glass flux ii can penetrate particularly easily.
In Fig. 4. the perforated ceramic body is at point 12 provided with larger bores through which leads 13 lead which through Metal melt flows 1.4 are fixed in the ceramic body. The space between the Supply line and the hole wall is filled with the ceramic socket 15, which covers the molten metal flow and is itself coated with the glass layer 16.
In FIG. 5, the metal flow is accommodated in the ceramic recess 17 and fixes the supply lines 18 in the porous, pierced closure body ig, while in Fig. 6 the latter at the point of the supply line a conical socket 2o from another ceramic, preferably low-loss material, in which the supply line 21 is melted down with the aid of the metal 22. The tube 23 covers again the metal flow and is sealed together with the supply line 21 by the glass flow 25, which also the pierced body 2-q. covered.
In Fig. 7 is the ceramic socket 26, in which the supply line 27 is fixed by the same metal flow also with the wall of the hole in the pierced Body 28 fused, for which purpose the lower edge 29 of the pushed over Tube 3o is turned out.

In Fig. G the through-hole or tapping through channels 35 and two is concentric Replaced annular grooves 36, which fill with glass. Fig. Io represents a section by a pierced ceramic closure body 37, which of the conical Sleeve 38 is penetrated by another ceramic material; this is drilled and Turned out at its upper end to accommodate a widened at its upper end Power supply 39, which is fused with metal at .I0 with the socket. This jack lies even in the glass flow 4.1. This embodiment has the advantage that the isolated Power supply, completely inserted into the pierced closure body, there in the soft Glass flux can no longer move.
