Zur Erleichterung dieser Arbeit dient ein weiterer, mit Hebel D und Stift s des Deckels B gekuppelter Hebel E, dessen Gegengewicht auf den Stift s, der bei der Bewegung des Deckels B in dem Schlitz d¹ des Hebels D gleitet, einwirkt. Damit beim kräftigen Treten auf den Hebel C kein harter Anschlag des Deckels B erfolgt, ist an der Scheidewand a eine kleine Feder f¹, Fig. 4, eingesetzt, an welche der Deckel B anstöfst, wodurch der Stofs gemildert wird. Die auf den Hebel C drückende Feder f dient dazu, den Deckel B wieder selbstthätig zu schliefsen; soll derselbe jedoch geöffnet bleiben, so wird der aufserhalb am Spucknapf A angebrachte Schieber S verschoben und verhindert dann dessen Nase s¹ das Zurückgehen des Hebels C in seine normale, in Fig. 2 strichpunktirt gezeichnete Lage, d. h. der Deckel B wird in seiner geöffneten Lage festgehalten.
