Description
Verfahren zur Gewinnung von Phenolen aus wäßriigen Lösungen Es ist bekannt, Phenole aus ihren wäßrigen Lösungen, wie z. B. aus Abwässern von Koke# reien, Schwel- oder Hydrieranlagen, durch Adsorption mittels aktiver Kohle zu gewinnen. Die praktische Durchführung dieses Verfahrens ist jedoch insofern unbefriedigend, als die Wirkung der hierfür bisher üblichen a,1ztiven Kohlenbeim Durchströmen von phenolhaltigem Wasser durch die Kohleschicht bald nachläßt und die Gesamtbeladungsfähigkeit der Kohlen für Phenol ungenügend erscheint. Selbst solche sonst sehr wirksame Adsorptionskohlen, die beispielsweise für Gas- und Dampfadsorptionszweche hervorragend geeignet sind, zeigen bei der Adsorption von Phenolen aus wäßriger Lösung nur eine mäßige Wirkung. Hochaktive Kieselgele erweisen sich für diesen Zweck als gänzlich wirkungslos. Es wurde nun gefunden, daß mit Wasserdampf oder wasserdampfhaltigen Gasen, wie Flammengasen, z. B. nach dem Verfahren der Palentschrift 463 772 aktivierte Magerkohle, d. i. nicht kokende magere Steinkohle, eine gegenüber den bisher bekannten aktiven Kohlen überragende Adsorptionsfähigkeit für Phenol aus wäßrigen Lösungen besitzt.
