Es kann die Dämpfung für die einzelnen Frequenzen verschieden sein, und es können auch noch Kopplungen auftreten, wenn der schwingende Steg mehreren Saiten gemeinsam ist. Erfindungsgemäß werden besondere Klangwirkungen dadurch erzielt, daß der Steg auf mehreren übereinanderliegenden, federnden Schichten gelagert wird und daß gegebenenfalls weitere mehr oder weniger elastische Kopplungselemente zwischen den federnden Schichten und der festen Unterlage vorgesehen werden. Die Eigenschwingung der federnden Schichten und der Kopplungselemente wird zweckmäßig so gewählt; daß sie der Eigenfrequenz des Steges des betreffenden Musikinstrumentes entspricht. Auf diese Weise kann z.
