Schwefelaufnahme. in.

Process for removing nitrogen oxide from sulphurous gases with the help of.

In practice, a revitalization is only possible for cleaning compounds to which humic substances have been added. If you want to revive the crowd z. B. by introducing air into the box or by spreading the mass in the air, so. if nitrogen oxide is first split off, the gray color of the mass changes to a darker shade, and one then obtains the well-known decomposition of iron sulphide into iron hydroxide and elemental sulfur. The mass regenerated in this way still contains around 25 % of the nitrogen oxides that were originally contained in it. If fresh gas is now passed through this mass - with the simultaneous formation of iron sulphide - the nitrogen oxide still in it is initially expelled. Only gradually does the mass regain its capacity for nitric oxide, which is now absorbed again.
The removal of nitrogen oxide from the sulfur-containing gas with reuse
the regenerated mass is now done according to the invention in such a way that the gas
by for example
on hordes, piled up cleaning compounds,
each consisting of a layer of fresh metal -.- oxide or
-hydroxyd and a layer essential to metal oxide or -hydrolind> regenerated,
but still contain nitrogen oxide: the mass is viewed, conducted - is, and indeed in such a way,
that the gas so long first through the fresh massaging until most of it
is converted into metal sulfide, and then reversing the direction of flow
is first passed through the regenerated massage layer.
The procedure should be explained using the accompanying drawing.

When the box is to be put into operation, according to the invention
the upper tray 5 initially covered with a layer 7, which is made of old, revived
Mass exists. This mass contains -like. already stated above, still nitrogen oxide.
A layer 8 of new, as yet unused compound is applied over it. the
original horde 6 is fed in the reverse order. The lower layer g
consists of fresh mass, while the upper layer ro consists of old regenerated
Mass is built up.
3/1 in Metallsulfid umgewandelt
At the beginning of operation, the box is operated in such a way that the gas enters through the nozzle a and the gas exits through the nozzle 3. Dias gas then flows out of the distributor chamber q in the direction of the arrows. below or above the hordes 6 and 5, penetrates through the heaped up layers of cleaning compound and leaves the box through the nozzle 3. At this stage of operation, the box - may only be lightly loaded. The fresh cleaning compound absorbs the defective hydrogen from the gases and is thereby activated to absorb nitrogen oxides. During this time, the nitrogen oxide can only be removed from the gas in accordance with the new formation of metal sulfides with the new mass. The nitrogen oxide still present in the old mass is retained in r as long as 1n metal sulfide is formed there. One works in such a way that the new mass is converted to @ / 3 or 3/1 in metal sulfide. This gives the absolute 'certainty that no metal sulfide formation and thus no nitrogen oxide removal can take place in the old mass. As soon as enough metal sulfide has formed in the new mass, the gas flow is passed through the box in the opposite direction to the original. The gas then flows over supports 3 through the old regenerated masses 7 and zo and the fresh masses 8 and 9 to the current exit, nozzle a. In the process, metal sulfides are formed in the old mass, which give rise to the removal of the last residue of nitrogen oxide from the old mass. These nitrogen oxide residues are trapped in the subsequent new mass activated by metal sulfide formation, just as the nitrogen oxide contained in the gas is absorbed there and rendered harmless. The box is now overall is suitable for the full operation and can be heavily loaded in the usual way.
