Ehrich & Graetz Akt.-Ges. in Berlin Kurz gebautes GasgeleuchtEhrich & Graetz Akt.-Ges. Shortly built gas lamp in Berlin
Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 3. September 1936 ab Patenterteilung bekanntgemacht am 11. April 1940Patented in the German Empire on September 3, 1936 Patent issued April 11, 1940
For some time, efforts have been made to reduce the overall length of the gas rail lines, in particular that of suspended at the top, shorten as much as possible. In part, this endeavor is on attributed to architectural desires; but not least are also practical Advantages of the short lamps are decisive because short lamps are included same mounting height for both the light mast as well as for the lamp itself, a saving in material compared to the previous one the usual long lights. The greatest structural difficulty that the When the design of short luminaires grows, it is natural to render them harmless here much more concentrated heat with regard to the mostly made of leather Bending skin of the remote igniter built into the lamp.
ao Mittels der vorliegenden Erfindung, die sich auf ein an sich bekanntes Gasgeleucht mit mittig angeordnetem Fernzünder bezieht, läßt sich diese Schwierigkeit in zweckmäßiger Weise überwinden und ein Geleucht herstellen,ao means of the present invention, which is based on a gas lamp known per se with centrally located remote detonator refers, this difficulty can be more expedient Overcome the wise and create a light
& 5 in which, in spite of the greatest compactness, the degree of heat prevailing in the vicinity of the detonator is so low that the flexural skin is spared and can serve its purpose for a long time.
Zu diesem Zwecke kann entweder noch ein .besonderer mittiger Abzug angeordnet werdenThe invention consists in that an intermediate floor is arranged between the combustion chamber and remote igniter, with the chimney or chimneys serving to discharge the exhaust gases. stones pass eccentrically through the space accommodating the remote igniter and open into an exhaust gas space above the remote igniter space, which is separated from the exhaust gas space by a partition; this adequately avoids any harmful effects on the remote detonator caused by the exhaust gases. Intermediate floors, through which a layer of air was created between the combustion chamber and the space accommodating the remote igniter, were already known, and it was also known to let chimneys pass eccentrically through the remote igniter chamber. The actually new combination of these two building codes, however, was not enough to fully achieve the desired success of keeping the remote detonator room cool. Another measure was necessary for this, namely the arrangement of a partition v above the remote detonator room. In order to achieve even better thermal protection by preventing the accumulation of heat resulting from radiation from the chimney in the igniter room, according to the invention there are also devices of any kind for dissipating the accumulated heat generated by the radiation of the chimneys in the remote igniter room. For this purpose, can either a special central trigger can be arranged
Löcher angeordnet werden.or a gap or holes can be arranged on the partition.

In the figures, 1 denotes the downwardly hanging tube, from which the lamp is suspended, 2 the remote igniter screwed to the lower end of this tube, from which the tubes 3 and 4 lead to the nozzles 5 and 6. The two mixing tubes 7 and y a open into the distribution chamber 8, which is carried by a screw bolt 9, namely in the usual way one mixing tube goes to the evening flames, the other to the night flames. The usually cast iron distribution chamber 8 is surrounded by the burner chamber 10, from which the chimney 11 rises. It is firmly and tightly connected to the cover of the burner chamber 10, but passes loosely through the intermediate base 12 and the partition base 13.
The housing cap 14 is loosely placed on the lower housing part 15. In contrast, the roof cap 16 and the windbreak neck 17, as well as all other parts, are firmly connected to the lamp. The lower housing part 15 has a step 18, 18 s at its upper end and holes 19 above its lower space.
In the lamp shown in Fig. 2, the dividing base 13 is placed lower, approximately at the level of the igniter, and a cap 20 protruding from it surrounds the igniter. It narrows towards the top to a tube 21 which, in contrast to the designs shown in the other figures, is open both at the bottom and at the top. In this case, special hollows 22 are provided on the roof cap. Similar to the holes 19 in the lower housing part 15, there are also holes ig B -on the housing cap 14 in this embodiment.
Aus diesemIn the embodiment shown in Fig. 3, the intermediate base I2 a is fastened to the housing base 15 with the aid of bolts 26 at a distance above the housing base 23 of the lower housing part 15. The Brennefkammer io A is open in this case above, and the chimney is fixedly and tightly embedded in the FaMe in this and the burner chamber cover-forming housing cover 23rd
. .Tind When Ausfüinrungisform according to Fig. 4 \ t 5 of the windshield neck · 17 and the separating base is united to one piece 13, and in place of the annular opening between the separating tray and the housing wall. as shown in Figs. 1 and 3, ventilation holes 24 are provided. The housing cap 14 has in its interior a support foot 25 which is used, as Fig. S shows, to be placed on the edge of the draft shield neck 17 with the cap 14 raised, so that the inner parts of the lantern are easily accessible. The narrowest diameter of the housing cap 14 is chosen so IDASS the housing cap 14 can be pushed over only through the dividing plate 13, the windshield neck 17 and the roof cap 16 when wind is placed on the higher level i8 a of the two support levels 18, i8 a. When the cap is put on, on the other hand, it slides back onto the lower support step 18 so that the support lever 25 comes to rest on the draft shield neck 17. As experiments have shown, it is possible with the aid of the invention, once the radiant heat of Verteiluingskammer 8 to make un- go harmful as the horizontal air layer between the cover of the burner chamber 10 and io ß and the intermediate floor 12 and I2 O effective heat protection forms. But this alone is not enough to keep the detonator cool; According to the invention, there is also the fact that the exhaust gases are passed through the space housing the igniter by means of the chimneys. In this way, a stagnation of the exhaust gases and a significant release of heat can only take place above the igniter without it being affected. It is also important that the central suspension of the distribution body, which is effected by the bolt 9, is not at the lower end of the igniter, but either at the intermediate base 12, as in FIG. 1, or on the base 23 of the housing 15 , as in Fig. 3, so that a transfer by thermal conduction is excluded. Because heat transfer through the tubes 3, 4 is not to be feared because the nozzle bodies 5, 6 are already far enough outside and therefore do not become very warm themselves. It has been shown in the tests that even if the exhaust gases are conducted in a space above the igniter, as in accordance with the present invention, the protection of the igniter from the heat of this space is of great importance. For this
Basically, in the embodiment according to Figs. 1 and 3, the partition base 13 is not brought up to the Gehäiusekappenwandi4, but a circular gap is left, or according to Figs. 4 and 5, holes 24 are provided on the outer edge of the partition base 13, both of which are the same Purpose, namely to allow cooling air to rise inside the housing. The holes 19 and 1% serve to introduce this air into the housing. In the embodiment according to Fig. 2, the air entering through the holes 19 washes around the igniter 2 over its entire extent upwards. The heating of the cap 20 and the Rohresi2i produces a slight heating of the air masses enclosed by them, which is not only completely harmless to the igniter, but rather creates a lift, thereby causing the inflow of cooling air around the igniter and thereby in safely protects against heating.
