Die vorliegende Erfindung bezweckt, dem sich bei den meisten Lehm- oder Thonsorten
zeigenden Uebelstande, dafs die Walzen der Abschneideapparate nach kurzer Zeit, wenn sie
feucht geworden sind, an die Masse ankleben und die auf den Walzen ruhende Seite des
ausgepreisten Thonstranges abschälen, sich mit der abgeschälten Masse umhüllen, folglich vergröfsern
und dadurch gleichzeitig die Beweglichkeit des Abschneidewagens hemmen und schliefslich in kurzen Zwischenräumen ausgewechselt

mit anderen Worten, wir ordnen statt nur eines endlosen Bandes deren mehrere so an,
dafs der Thonstrang vor dem Abschneiden nach einander über diese endlosen Bänder geführt
wird. Dadurch wird erreicht, dafs der Thonstrang in der gleichen Zeit mit mehr Filz
oder englischem Leder bezw. immer neuen Theilen desselben in Berührung kommt. Die
Feuchtigkeit des Thonstranges vertheilt sich dadurch auf eine bedeutend gröfsere Fläche,
so dafs Stillstand und Auswechseln der Bänder, wie dies bei anderen Verfahren so oft nöthig
ist, selten oder gar nicht vorkommt. Die freie Länge dieser Tücher, mithin auch die Entfernung
der Leitwalzen dieser einzelnen Bänder von den Strangwalzen wird so grofs bemessen,
dafs sie einen längeren Weg durch die freie Luft zurückzulegen haben, ehe sie wieder mit
dem Thon . in Berührung kommen und auf ihrem Wege durch Schaber oder Gegenwalzen
von etwa anklebendem Prefsmaterial befreit werden können, ehe sie wieder mit der feuchten
Masse in Berührung kommen. Die Tücher c können über eine, zwei, drei oder mehr Strangwalzen
als auch über eine, zwei, drei oder mehr Leit- oder Spannwalzen geleitet werden,
