Bei dieser Stellung wird nun das offene Zangenmaul an die Nase des Stiers herangeführt und die Zange behufs Festklemmung der Nasenscheidewand zwischen den Klemmbacken 4, 5 geschlossen, wodurch der Stier für die Operation des Ringeinziehens gefesselt und in Stillstand gehalten werden kann. Ein über den zusammengedrückten Griffschenkeln i, 2 niederschiebbares ringförmiges Glied ermöglicht eine Verriegelung in solcher Spannlage (Abb. 1). Während so mit der linken Hand das Zangengerät gehalten wird, kann jetzt mit der rechten Hand der Hebel h einwärts verschwenkt werden. Dabei preßt die Roller des Arms ν im Durchgang durch die öffnung u den Ringteil d nach innen, so daß, wie aus Abb. 3 ersichtlich, die Nasenscheidewand durchstochen wird und die Schrägspitzen sich gegeneinander schlüssig verbinden.
