Description

Method of filling the cooker absorber with solid chemically active absorption materials working absorption apparatuses with solid chemical Absorption apparatuses working with absorbent materials must take great care with the filling material of the cooker absorber. You have to make sure that the entire Absorption of the solid absorption material, certain space filled with a mass which has a fine-pored structure, thus expelling the working medium and its resumption is equally possible. Impurities in the solid absorbent, Incorrect handling of the filling compound before filling or the like can cause great damage here cause, which is very cumbersome especially for the reason that the difficulties possibly only after a gas-tight seal, d. H. upon complete completion of the apparatus. So with alkaline earth halides is the presence of water disadvantageous.

According to the invention, hydrous alkaline earth metal halogen compounds are heated to form hydrogen halide before they are filled into the cooker absorber vessel that oxides of the halogen salts or basic halogen compounds are present in the total filling compound in such an amount that all the water which is then absorbed from the air during filling is is chemically bound by the oxides mentioned or by the basic halogen compounds. In this way, a filling compound for the digester absorber is obtained, in which, after its completion and filling into the digester absorber vessel and after saturation with the working medium, there is no free water that gives rise to crust formation within the absorbent material, this explains itself that the water contained in the absorbent, for example in calcium chloride, reacts when the absorbent melts with the calcium chloride to form calcium oxide or basic calcium chloride. These substances are extremely fine and evenly distributed in the enamel. If the filling compound comes into contact with the air during the preparation process, the water is absorbed from the air as Ca ( OH,) and bound. As a result, the harmful effects of the free water are rendered ineffective and the absorbent is protected against the harmful absorption of moisture during the filling.

The measures of the invention would apply to artificial additives of halogen oxides to the extent that it is more effective, because this results in a much finer distribution of calcium oxide or basic calcium chloride in bulk.

The invention can be practiced in a wide variety of ways. Depending on the water content of the absorbent used as the raw material, water will be added. This can be done, for example, by exposing the absorbent to the air from which it absorbs water. One can also proceed in such a way that the absorbent is melted and that water is blown into the melt. In all cases it is ensured that the absorption mass before the further, - ,.
