Description
Interfilm Television Method The present invention relates to a method of transmitting television images using a cinematographic Intermediate recording.
One known embodiment of the intermediate film process consists in that the cinematographic intermediate recording on a so-called normal film, d. H. a film tape 35 mm wide with four perforation holes per frame and one row of perforations on each edge. On one of those Film material can hold about 52 images of the usual normal format per meter of tape length 19 mm high and 24 mm wide, i. H. those that take place over the course of 2 seconds Recordings, accommodate. As the development and other treatment of the photosensitive Materials a minimum time of about. 10 seconds even with the latest method requires, one still has to use large lengths of film in the film processing apparatus accommodate, making it bulky and cumbersome.
In and of itself one could think of using the apparatus the so-called Schmalfilius, d. H. a film tape 16 mm wide and one-hole perforation, to zoom out. However, this measure has the disadvantage that the film tape which is only stressed at one perforation hole during transport, is easily damaged so that disturbances then occur in the broadcast, especially in the case where the layer carrier is designed as an endless belt and is in constant repetition moved through the film apparatus, so where it is a continuous Procedure acts.
The present invention overcomes these disadvantages in that the Image size of the only uninterrupted row provided on the intermediate film of individual images is smaller in height and width than they usually are in terms of dimensions of the intermediate film used, so that within the perforation in addition to the image recording, space is gained for a soundtrack, which in proportion to the picture is wider than the soundtrack of a normal film to the normal picture. For example it is possible to follow one another in an uninterrupted series of individual images 9 mm high permit.
This method has many advantages over the use of cine film Advantages. In contrast, by using multi-toothed indexing elements good film guidance for cine film transport elements and avoids at the same time Damage to the perforation of the film tape, as it is less stressed accordingly will. It must also be taken into account that the advance speed of the normal film with small pictures a fraction, at least half of that required for normal pictures is, so that for this reason, too, a greater degree of protection of the film tape occurs.
Another advantage of using normal films is that when the substrate emulsifies, exposes, develops in uninterrupted sequence, scanned, freed from the layer and subjected to this cycle again target. Experience has shown that there are certain difficulties in emulsifying the film in such a way that that the photosensitive layer does not get to the perforation holes, whereby Soiling of the perforation and the substrate, e.g. B. on the back, enter. When producing small-format images, however, one can use from normal film the width of the emulsified strip is so reduced that laterally the layer must be kept a sufficient distance to the edge of the perforation can. On the other hand, it is easily possible without changing what is currently customary Aspect ratio of 3: 4 the sound recording while preserving all the mentioned Advantages in addition to the series of images, as the tape has enough space for image and sound recording offers. You may even improve the Increase the width of the sound recording. As a result of the lower image height, how already noted, the speed of the film strip through the apparatus slowed down. Since now, however, the implementation of all photochemical processes of the photosensitive layer required time is the same as normal film, you can measure the length of the film tape in the treatment apparatus Reduce the fraction given by the reduced image format: In this way the apparatus is significantly reduced in size, so that a smaller number of incremental and deflection rollers are required, which in turn contributes significantly to protecting the film strip. In the foregoing, the invention has been exemplified using a normal film as a recording medium explained for images of approximately narrow film format. But the invention is not limited to this specified special case, but refers quite generally on the use of a recording material, the width dimensions of which is the width the individual images exceeds such that between the side edges or the rows of perforations between the illustrated book and the image recording a gap of several millimeters consists. The method can be used in the same way advantageously on the transmission as well as Use the receiving side or wherever there is an intermediate film recording.
