Die Abzweig- und Verbindungsklemmen für elektrische Freileitungen wurden bisher durchweg vollmetallisch ausgeführt, da kein Grund bestand, die hinsichtlich der mechanischen Festigkeit und der elektrischen Leitfähigkeit bestehenden Vorteile des einheitlichen Metall-C|iierschnittes aufzugeben. Die jetzige Mctallknappheit läßt jedoch diese Bauart als Metallvergeudung erscheinen. Der weder aus mechanischen noch aus elektrischen Gründen notwendige vollmctallische Aufbau der Klemmen bedingt bei der Massenanwendung dieser Leitungsbestandteile einen riesigen Metallverbrauch. Die Erfindung hat den Zweck, hier Abhilfe zu schaffen und den Metallbedarf für Klemmen dieser Art auf ein unerläßliches Minimum einzuschränken, das in keinem Verhältnis zu dem bisherigen Bedarf steht. Erreicht ist dies erfindungsgemäß dadurch, daß der eigentliche Klemmenkörper aus nichtmetallischem Baustoff, ζ. Β. isolierendem Kunststoff, besteht, auf welchem als Leiterhalter und Strombrücken dünnschichtige Auflagen bzw. Einlagen aus Metall angebracht sind. Es ist zwar an sich bekannt, Isolierstoffe, insbesondere Isolierpreßstofle, als Träger spannungführender Teile zu verwenden.
