The. The invention relates to intermediate layers for support leaf springs, in particular of
Motor vehicles. There are intermediate layers for leaf springs known to be advantageous,
which are made of a metal mesh and one pressed in and around the mesh, of which
Braided mass of fibers, binders and hardening agents.
The purpose of such intermediate layers is to prevent rusting and soiling of the support leaf springs
and the resulting irregular, sometimes violent and intermittent movement
to avoid between the spring leaves and by introducing a sliding surface containing a lubricant
to secure soft and even movement of the spring leaves on each other.
There are already other insoles, including those that inhibit movement
Substances have been proposed. But the fact is disregarded in these proposals
been left that deposits between the suspension spring leaves very heavy loads
subject. The introduction of a lubricating layer or any other
soft intermediate layer, such as leather, paper or the like., Is therefore impossible and impracticable.
Hin-The invention differs from the previous braided metal spacers in that it is intended to delay the spring movement. In fact, in many cases it is desirable that short-term successive impacts should cause little or no changes in shape of the spring. For example, in motor vehicles it can be useful to have very brief impacts, especially those caused by the so-called fluttering of the front wheels, not absorbed by the springs but by the pneumatic tires. According to the invention, therefore, the intermediate layer is designed in such a way that initially the known metal mesh with the mass of fibers, binding and hardening agents pressed in its openings and around the same serves as the basis . B. metal dust, glass dust, carborundum, quartz sand, rosin and the like is added, this friction agent penetrating the entire mass approximately evenly. By virtue of the design specified above, the intermediate layer has the necessary strength to withstand the high shear effects of the spring leaves. It also prevents rusting and soiling of the springs. However, the friction means contained in the mass causes a delay in the spring vibrations, so that short successive 5 low impacts are not or only to a small extent absorbed by the spring. There-
langsamere Federbewegung als bisher.against larger and long-lasting impacts are still absorbed by the spring. It may result
these conditions even a softer,
slower spring movement than before.
Spring leaves easily permit and may only delay them to the extent desired
"ίο the deflection of the springs and
Liners do not separate from their metal base and crumble off, they must eventually
be resistant to water, oil, road dust, etc. It is expedient
made of asbestos and synthetic resins, which have suitable abrasives, ζ. B. metal dust, glass dust,
Carborundum, quartz sand, rosin and similar substances may be added.
The friction agent should be distributed evenly. This mass is expedient in a known manner by rolling or
Pressing pressed into the metal insert or pressed through the same, so that the
Metal insert completely penetrated by the mass and also on both sides by
of the mass covered in very thin scmcht Ssjf. It is important to ensure that the binding,
Jrte- and friction agents are finely and evenly distributed in the mass, so that the coefficient of friction at all points of the intermediate layer and
remains the same even with increasing wear. "
