Erfindungsgemäß wird das Feld des Gleichstrommotors durch besondere Einrichtungen (Kompensationswicklungen, Vorschaltung von eisengesättigten Drosselspulen oder Eisenwasserstoffwiderständen) bei schvvankender Belastung oder Netzspannung konstant gehalten. Es wird also beispielsweise dem zur Versorgung des Motorerregerfeldes vom Netz aus erforderlichen Gleichrichter etwa eine nach dem Prinzip der magnetischen Sättigung arbeitende Einrichtung zur Konstanthaltung der Spannung vorgeschaltet. Diese Einrichtung besteht zum Beispiel aus einer an die Spannung angeschlossenen, mit Eisensättigung arbeitenden Drosselspule, in deren eine Zuleitung eine ohne Eisensättigung arbeitende Drosselspule eingeschaltet ist. Auch Eisenwasserstoffwiderstände u. dgl. kann man für diesen Zweck benutzen.
