Description

Tower furnace with a gas-tight inner jacket enclosing the pull-through material. So-called. Tower furnaces, it is known, if the furnace is operated with protective gas, in the interior of the furnace masonry entirely or partially a jacket made of heat-resistant gas-tight material, e.g. B. chrome-nickel steel sheet to be provided in order to avoid the escape of protective gas into the furnace masonry. Because of the high temperatures at which such ovens are usually operated, the inner jacket must be arranged so that it can freely follow the thermal expansions, so it can move in the longitudinal direction b el in relation to the oven chamber. This is achieved, for example, by connecting the inner jacket to the furnace masonry only at its upper end, but also by ensuring that it can expand freely downwards. Now, however, at the temperatures (70o to 100o ' C) to which the upper part of the inner jacket is exposed in the furnace, the mechanical strength of the metallic building material from which the inner jacket is made is reduced. In order to counteract this disadvantage and to create a tower furnace that meets all requirements for gas tightness, strength and operational safety with good thermal expansion capacity, according to the invention the weight of the inner shell, which is suspended in the furnace head and is longitudinally displaceable relative to the furnace masonry, is replaced by a lower shell Counterforce acting at the end (weight or spring) balanced.

In the drawing, a known type of Turwofen is shown in an upright section, but with an inner jacket which can be moved longitudinally according to the invention. It means i the iron supporting structure of the tower furnace, 2 the outer jacket consisting of sheet iron, 'the heat-insulating manerwork enclosing the outer jacket, 3 the removable heat-blocking cover which, as is known, engages in liquid-filled sealing cups 4, 5 the furnace masonry, 6 the heat-resistant material, compared to the furnace masonry according to the invention longitudinally displaceable inner jacket, 7 the band-shaped pull-through material guided above a deflection roller 12 and 8, 9 the heating coils arranged in the annealing chamber, which, as is also known in such furnaces, are partly on the outside of the annealing material, partly between it on and from the rising part. The pulleys io and ii for the incoming and outgoing pull-through material are arranged in a known manner on a frame provided below the furnace. Compared to known pull-through ovens designed as tower ovens, the present invention consists in the fact that the weight of the longitudinally displaceable inner jacket is balanced by a counterforce acting at its lower end. Therefore according to the down slightly protruding from the lower end of the Ofenmauerwerk5 Innenman .tels-6 of the present invention, for example one by one Gev layer 1 5-loaded lever 14 articulated, which can oscillate about a bearing journal. 13 The counterweight 15 can be adjusted on the lever 14 and is dimensioned so that it precisely compensates for the weight of the inner jacket 6 when it is correctly adjusted. This completely relieves the load on the upper part of the inner jacket 6 , which surrounds the glow chamber of the furnace, so that this part of the inner jacket can be heated to the high glow chamber temperatures without any problems.
