Description
Process for removing cellulose or adhesives from sheet metal scraps of aluminum, tin or their alloys covered with these agents. It was found that this cleaned waste is suitable as a first-class product for the production of metal powder. Furthermore, it has also been found that the acid residues obtained by the operation can be used advantageously for the production of calcium phosphate fertilizers.
It is known that such thin metal flakes made of aluminum, tin etc. cannot be processed with concentrated acid because they are strongly attacked by the acid and can then no longer be used. It is also known, however, that cellulose, like its derivatives, is only dissolved by acids in a concentration of 65 to 75 percent. It was not foreseeable that reason how these thin Metallb lättchenabfälle 'behandelnkönnte with acids, without the metal layers to attack itself.
It has now been found that when using certain sulfuric acid enrichment with the addition of 1 to 5 percent boric acid, phosphoric acid or hypophosphorous Acid and if a certain temperature is maintained is possible the pulp or other Adhesive without iDder has practically no significant effect on the metal flakes dissolve. One explanation for this implementation option is that the added boric acid such as phosphoric acid or hypophosphorous acid a protective layer forms on the metal surface (e.g. with Aluniinium), which is the attack of the acid solution on the metal prevents i or more difficult.
It was further found that inan, best This is the result with 7o- to 72prozentiger sulfuric acid and at a temperature below 20 "ON. The lower the temperature of the Säurelösiu-ig is Utri less Bo 'rsäure or phosphoric acid must be added. At temperatures from i to io 'below zero, sulfuric acid no longer attacks these metal sheets just in the short time in which it is able to dissolve the cellulose.
It was also found that when exposed to 3 to 5 percent Sulfuric acid, on the flakes no dissolution of the pulp or the adhesive layer goes on, but only a detachment of the cellulose layer from the metal flakes.
The process is further illustrated by the following example:.. In the case of s p i iel kg o with paper like bjeklebte AlTiN iiniumblättchenabfäfte be loosened as far as possible and at room temperature in ZD 72prozentige sulfuric acid, to which 1/2 0/0 Bürsäure and i% Phosphorsäur #e are added, immersed and = stirred. After stirring slowly for 10 to 15 minutes, all of the liquid turns dark - and it can be seen that all of the pulp or glue has dissolved. In this brief Displays the action the Metallblättche hardly attacked n * of the acid and bleih ## gl - än7 end. After removing the acid, the metal flakes are washed in cold or warm water until all remains of cellulose, glue and sulfuric acid have been removed. The papers can then be immersed in hot water and air-dried.
In this way you get impeccably pure '-,%, 1, etallblätheii, which are either worked out in tamping systems zti.Altiminiumpiilver '# - or by Single-smelting of the Aletall can be reused. Also colored stickers Metal foils can be processed in the same way.
After using the 72 percent sulfuric acid several times and If this is saturated with pulp waste, it can be used immediately for digestion calcium triphosphate can be reused. As the sulfuric acid except pulp It also supplies organic nitrogen compounds in the form of glue, broken down - ## e6y. # (# xlciumdi- or -monoph "asphat down-" gesc lay, a better calcium phosphate fertilizer than calcium triphosphate digested with pure sulfuric acid.
