Sammelkammern verbunden sind. -Diese Rohrerhitzer setzen dem Wasserumlauf einen erheblichen Widerstand entgegen, neigen zum Verkalken und erfordern eine umständliche Herstellung. Vor allem werden bei diesen Rohrerhitzern alle in den Rohren auftretende Wärme- und Einbauspannungen auf die Befestigungsstellen der einzelnen Rohre übertragen, so daß deren Haltbarkeit leidet. Bei anderen bekannten Umlauferhitzern dieser Art mit elektrischer Beheizung erfolgt die Erhitzung des Wassers nur in engen Hohlmänteln, denen es durch vom Tragrohr seitlich abzweigende Kanäle zugeführt wird, worauf es nach erfolgter Erhitzung wieder in das Tragrohr zurückgeleitet wird, dessen Inhalt unbeheizt ist. Abgesehen von der anderen Beheizung haben diese Umlauferhitzer auch einen hohen Umlaufwiderstand.
