Es sind bereits Glasaufbauten in Form von gekitteten Schaukästen, Hauben o. dgl. bekannt. Eine Schwierigkeit bestand jedoch darin, bei Ausführung derartiger Aufbauten in größerem Maßstabe eine geeignete Verschlußvorrichtung zu schaffen, die den Innenraum in bequemer Weise durch eine große Öffnung zugänglich macht und dabei die freie Durchsicht in keiner Weise stört.
