Description
Method of attaching heels to shoes When attaching Heels on shoes must be particularly careful that between the heel front and a good transition is created for the outsole without a gaping there or a space. For this purpose it has been suggested in the top layer of the heel material or the one resting against the bottom of the heel Surface of the paragraph to attach a recess in the corresponding way extended and designed sole earth intervenes.
The invention now proposes a mode of operation through which this Connection is still further improved, and this is done in such a way that the groove approximately concentric to the convex hinge ax of the outsole in the front surface of the paragraph is incised and after inserting the corresponding wedge-shaped The end of the sole protrudes into the heel front groove on both sides of the heel Parts of the sole end, as is known per se, are cut off.
The drawing represents an example embodiment of the connection between the sole and heel. Fig. i shows a heel in the shape of @er is used to the compound according to the invention.
Fig. Z shows the heel part of a shoe bottom with the sharpened Sole lip, Fig. 3 is a side view of a shoe with the connection between Outsole and heel according to the invention.
As can be seen from FIGS. I and 3, the paragraph i consists of several layers of leather or other material, a ladies' heel being shown in the figures mentioned. The upper and lower layers 3 and 5 are preferably made of leather, while the middle layers 7 can be made of cardboard or another plastic. The top layer 9 of the heel, which touches the bottom of the sole, also expediently consists of leather. The heel preferably already has its final shape when it is brought together with the sole and the shoe bottom, ie it is already milled and glazed. At the front of the heel there is a transverse groove 13 which has a wedge-shaped cross section and which serves to receive the heel end of the sole. This groove extends from one side of the heel to the other and lies below the upper breast line of the heel. Corresponding to the usual shape of the shoulder, this groove 13 runs in a curved line. The lower edge of the groove extends parallel or substantially parallel to the line on which the heel is attached to the shoe bottom. The groove 13 is thus cut into the front surface of the heel approximately concentrically to the convex joint part of the outsole 63. In this groove 13 engages: the suitably sharpened edge 65 of the end of the sole, namely the groove 13 in the heel has a depth of approximately 10 to ia mm. The end edge of the hook end of the sole is also sharpened in a corresponding manner and length. The attachment of the heel to the shoe is best done using an annealing machine, which has a device by means of which nails inclined towards one another are driven into the heel from the inside of the shoe. As a result, a secure fastening also takes place in those cases in which the heels are so strongly curved, especially at their rear part, that the nails cannot be driven into the edge of the heel as tightly as would be necessary without the There is a risk that they will emerge again from the side surface of the paragraph. Six fastening nails can be used, three of which can be seen on one side of the heel in FIG. The foremost nails 67 on each side of the shoe suitably pass through the slot 13 and through the beveled part 65 of the sole and in this way firmly connect the sole and the heel to one another. Usually the heel nailing machine is provided with clamping devices by which the heel is firmly clamped to the shoe before the nails are driven. The beveled part 65 of the sole is pressed firmly into the slot ':: 13_: of the heel by the pressure applied here. Driving in the nails 67 also prevents the groove from gaping. This can also be prevented by applying liquid glue to the beveled part 65 of the sole and / or the interior of the slot 13 before the heel is attached to the shoe.
After the heel is attached to the shoe, the side edges become of the beveled part 65 of the sole (this part is a little wider at the front than the shoulder at the point where the slot 13 is located) to the surface of the heel cut off, and the one between the heel and the sole The surface is easily covered with glass. The heel fastened, trimmed and glazed in this way is then in a known manner, for. B. by dyeing and polishing finished.
