Description
Process for dyeing natural and artificial silk with embedded hard wax particles It has been found that with solutions or emulsions of hard waxes and optionally Oils or fats and then with metal salt solutions, such as solutions of chromium or aluminum salts, treated natural or artificial silk or with the addition of such solutions or emulsions Artificial silk that has been spun and treated with the metal salt solutions is advantageous dyes from aqueous dyebaths at temperatures at which the embedded wax particles soften, and the colored fibers, threads or fabrics, if necessary, by touch dries with hot plates.
It is expedient to dye at the melting temperature of that contained in the fiber Hard wax mixture or close to this melting temperature, i.e. between about 65 and go ° C. These temperatures can, however, fluctuate within wider limits, since the melting point the hard wax may be changed if the hard wax is refined Additives, e.g. B. Mineral oils were added. It has been shown that the dye when carrying out the dyeing process penetrates into the finished fiber and a completely uniform coloring of the fabrics occurs, regardless of whether it is Raw fibers or threads of artificial or natural silk or around mixed fibers or around them manufactured fabrics. A pretreatment of the finished fabrics before Dyeing is not necessary. The material to be dyed can be heated before dyeing Soak in water or with a weak alum solution for a long time, whereby the moisture penetration is accelerated with increasing temperature. Post-treatment of the dyed fabrics is not required at all in most cases, since the same will change after the Cool and dry as a thoroughly even, streak-free and streak-free colored and have all the properties of the original-refined fabrics.
In order to achieve certain effects, however, the substances can also be used the dyeing, e.g. B. with solutions of metal salts to apply to the hard waxes to act and when using certain dyes a fixation or preservation to achieve in a known manner.
According to the invention, drying is advantageously carried out in such a way that the material to be dyed is brought into contact with heated plates or surfaces by it z. B. on internally heated drums or on hot metal plates hangs up. It has been shown that the appearance of the woven fabrics and also loose fibers, which are colored by the present process, is much better if this Type of drying instead of the usual treatment in drying chambers or with a hotter Air is applied.
. Den Färbebädern können auch Hartwachse
in
The dyeing can take longer without affecting the result Time after finishing the finishing of the fabrics. So it is z. B. possible the refined natural or artificial silk or mixed fibers thereof after storage on one other places, possibly even to be colored after shipping by sea.
B. Alaun, getaucht, wodurch eine nochmalige oder weitergehende Fixierung des aufgenommenen Farbstoffes in und auf der Faser erfolgt.0Example r one with an alkaline montan wax emulsion with subsequent Fixation with a two percent potassium alum solution refined, bleached rayon fabric is in a dye bath which, in addition to the aqueous solution, is used for dyeing rayon suitable dye, such as naphthaanthraquinone, nor a small addition of the Contains montan wax emulsion, with a softening the embedded hard wax particles Temperature, e.g. B. at 5o9 C, dyed until the desired color is achieved and-- then into the aqueous solution of a metal salt, e.g. B. alum, dipped, whereby a repeated or further fixation of the absorbed dye in and takes place on the fiber.
Example 2 Artificial silk threads in strand form are in the raw state refined with a carnauba wax emulsion and can be used in this uncolored state can be sent as desired before dyeing. For the purpose of dyeing the threads before or after Before weaving, the rayon is first treated with heated water until it is Wetting and coloring, as indicated in example r, in one, an addition of carnauba wax emulsion 1-holding dye liquor, e.g. in such a tetramethyldiaminobenzophenonimide, Strrauf fixation with a precipitant, i: B. sodium sulfate, is carried out. The further processing of the artificial silk strands or fabrics takes place in the usual way Way.
