Method of making boot supports9b ;. with fastening tab
on the inner edge The invention relates. refer to a process for the production of
Boot heels. with fastening tabs on the inner edge from one to the mold
of the heel iron bent steel wire. It is known to warm such boot irons
to be forged in the die .; D@es.e,. Manufacturing method is expensive. Through the invention
the aim is to make the production of such boot irons cheaper, which is why
it is achieved that. the workpiece in the calving state one after the other in several matrices
is pressed, the inner grooved edge of each of the subsequent dies
is slightly higher above the bottom of the groove than on the previous die.

A boot iron made therefrom in accordance with the invention.
Several matrices are involved in practicing the invention. The number of dies depends on the boot iron to be made. As an exemplary embodiment of the method according to the invention, three matrices a, b and c have been chosen. The negative form of the boot iron is incorporated into the dies. During the production of the iron, a high-strength steel wire bent as shown in Fig. 13 , which can be round, angular, smooth or profiled, is inserted into the shaped groove d, which can be done by hand or by machine. In the case of the dies a and b , the inner edge of the forming groove d is lower than the outer edge of the forming groove, namely deeper in the case of the die a than in the case of the die b. In the case of the die c, the inner and outer edges of the molding groove are at the same height. The purpose of this different depth of the inner edge of the molding groove is to be able to push out the fastening tabs with relatively low pressures, which also weakens the punch pressure on the die, which in the other case would cause the die to crack. The different depths of the inner groove edge can be seen from the cross-sections in Fig. Q. and 5 can be seen.
