Sprayer The proper operation of any equipment used to spray
Paints, varnishes and the like. Requires that the hand lever, with the help of which the valves
for the supply of the atomizing air and the mass to be atomized .open
can be operated as sensitively as possible, otherwise there is a risk of
that the hand lever swung out in jerks and consequently that for the paint passage
The released valve is suddenly opened too wide, which leads to the formation of droplets.
This risk is particularly great with sprayers that are used with consideration
the work to be done have a particularly large air passage. Here is a burden
with the valves closed on the air valve a considerable pressure that only
can be overcome by tightening the associated hand lever. As soon as
the air valve is opened, pressure equalization occurs in front of and behind it, resulting in
The result is that in this state the hand lever opens with almost no resistance
of the liquid valve can be swung out further, and there before to open
of the air valve a strong pressure had to be exerted on the hand lever
with the same suddenness also the hand lever swung out further and the liquid valve
further open. A sensitive movement of the hand lever is absolutely necessary,
because at the beginning of the. Work the liquid valve may only be opened moderately
and a gradually increasing fluid passage only in the further course
the spraying process should take place. In order to do that, provision must be made for it
be taken that when you open the air valve not immediately, as was previously generally the case
It is common for the full passage cross-section to be released. To open the
To be able to effect the air inlet with the lightest possible lever pressure, it is necessary to
that the air inlet gradually or in stages when the hand lever swings out
is released.
This is done according to the invention in that several nested
Valves for closing and releasing the air inlet are used in such
Way that in the first part of the movement of the hand lever there is a smaller, low resistance
Offering valve is opened and the opening of the larger valve only in the further
The course of the hand lever movement takes place. That way everyone becomes jerky
Prevented movement of the hand lever and careful execution of the spraying work
also guaranteed when finer painting and decorating work with the spraying device
are to be carried out. A guarantee is provided that no spray material is wasted
takes place, the work does not fail and that under all circumstances only the for
the amount of air required for the atomization process leaves the nozzle.

I), so
On the sprayer i, the hand lever 12 can be swiveled around the axis j3: in the usual way. Way held by the rod q. to open the air inlet valves 5 and 7 is to be moved against the pressure of the spring io. After opening the valve 5, the lever 2 strikes against a projection 9 and begins to open the liquid valve through the intermediary of the rod 3 and only then the valve 7, so that a gradual increase in the air passage corresponding to the increase in the liquid passage is achieved. The valve rod q: has a shoulder 6 which, when the valves 5 and 7 are closed, is at a reasonable distance from the valve 17 (Fig. I), so that when the valve rod q. first the valve 5 and only then the valve 7 is opened. Openings 7a provided in valve 7 determine the amount of air which can flow over from space rr to space 12 when valve 5 is open.
