verursachte.Atomizer tubes for carburetors have been made from a large number of flexible ones
Manufactured strips, the longitudinal direction of which ran in the longitudinal direction of the pipe. the
Stripes that were the same width everywhere covered one another with their long edges and
were combined at both ends to form a tube. Either the ends were
the strip is attached to annular bodies by riveting or screwing
or lugs were provided at the ends of the strips which were provided with corresponding recesses
Ring were fitted. The pipe manufactured in this way narrowed in the normal position
slightly from its ends towards the middle. Were the sockets of the two pipe ends opened by means of a lever or the like
When the pressure exerted by one frame came closer to one another, the stripes bent afterwards
the pipe axis in which the atomizing nozzle was arranged. That way the
Passage of the gasification air through the pipe can be more or less throttled.
The durability of these atomizer tubes, however, left a lot to be desired, because the
Changes in the pipe cross-section of the individual strips, especially on theirs
Frames that were heavily used. The pipe was also not gas-tight, and it showed
often a form unsuitable for the gas flow in the pipe, the considerable pressure loss
caused.
Diese Nachteile werden durch die Erfin-Attempts have already been made to remedy the lack of "gas tightness" in these devices by reducing the width of the individual strip from its ends towards the middle, namely by shaping one longitudinal edge of the strip according to a special curve, while the other longitudinal edge was straight. But here too the ends of the individual strips were connected by rivets to the corresponding sockets rivet them in a certain position holds. the tubular body has, therefore, have a g 0 uniform curvature in only one position. in all other positions of its curvature result runs unevenly and not as that of a venturi tube. this non-uniformity of the curvature is the gas-tightness of The pipe is not yet ideal, and the gas flow is in the The pipe is unfavorable and there is a high loss of flow energy. Also, as a result of the frequent changes in the length of the tubular body, which are caused by the nature of the operation, the riveted connections are too heavily stressed, so that breaks at the fastening points of the strips cannot be avoided. These disadvantages are avoided by the invention
In
wird.'The individual strips, from which the - atomizer tube is composed and whose width decreases from the ends to the middle, are grasped at the ends by flanging over a ring. This ensures that the curvature of the strips is very uniform from one end to the other in all positions of the pipe. The atomizer tube according to the invention accordingly has a shape in all positions which corresponds to that of the diffuser of jet devices. The passage of air through the pipe therefore takes place with the lowest pressure loss, and the mixture of the air with the fuel is the most favorable conceivable. Furthermore, as a result of the uniform curvature, the individual strips lie so tightly against one another with their overlapping edges that the pipe is actually practically gas-tight in all positions. In the mounts, the strips are only slightly stressed because the strips can bend freely along the entire length of the tubular body and because their bend in the weaker center is significantly greater than t at the stronger ends. As practical operation has shown, this results in a good durability of the "atomizer tube. In the narrowest tube cross-section, due to the diffuser shape of the atomizer tube, there is a considerable negative pressure. At this narrowest point or in its immediate vicinity the air and fuel are mixed. This ensures that the fuel is not only mixed very closely with the air, but is also sucked in very vigorously.
The strips are expediently designed in such a way that both longitudinal edges of the strip
follow a curve. In this case it is not just the curvature of the strips in all
Positions of the tubular body most evenly, but also the. Pressure with which
place the strips together.
The strips can be made of metal, e.g. B. bronze, steel, stainless steel, or from
other elastic or flexible materials such as paper, rubber, etc.
Is it a question of tightness under all circumstances in special cases
to ensure, as is known per se,
a rubber sleeve can be placed around the pipe body or in the same.
In der Zeichnung ist die Erfindung' beispielsweise
dargestellt.
In the drawing, the invention is shown, for example. Figs. 1 to 4 show the atomizer tube and the socket of the individual strips in "plan view and in section, namely the tube is shown in Fig. 1 and 2 with a wide open passage, in Fig. 3 and 4 in the throttled position. The Fig Figures 5 and 6 show one of the strips a from which the tube b is made, the strips being held at their ends by the sockets c and d .
The air flows in at one end of the tube b , the socket at the other end is fastened to the carburetor housing in such a way that the tube opens into the air inlet to the engine. The fuel nozzle, not shown, is located in front of the free end of the tube and protrudes a certain distance into the tube. The free end of the tube can be in a known manner ,, z. B. by engaging on the sockets levers at a suitable variable distance from the other end. It is expediently actuated with a force fit with the fuel nozzle needle. Should z. B. the engine are brought to idle, the free end of the tube with the socket c is pressed against the fixed socket d until the cross section of the tube narrows so far that only the air necessary for idling flow through the tube can. At the same time, the fuel nozzle is throttled to idle, expediently by means of the same device that also effects the adjustment of the pipe. If you want to switch the engine to power, the air passage and, at the same time, the fuel supply to the nozzle is increased in the desired manner by removing the free end of the pipe from its fixed end.
